Texture & Finish
YSL CC Cream Forever Light Creator is very light in texture. The texture is so light that I don’t really feel that I am wearing foundation. The coverage is light but it manages to cover my pores. These days I applied 2 layers of YSL CC cream on my face to give me the kind of coverage I want. It gives a healthy glow to your complexion; natural coverage and it evens out my skintone.
YSL CC Cream Forever Light Creator comes in 3 shades: Rose, Apricot and Lavender. The description below is taken from YSL CC Cream press release information:
- Rose : To give the complexion a fresh and rosy halo
Apricot : To recreate the golden radiance of a beautiful skin
Lavender: to give a natural skin looking radiance
Here’s the swatch of both shades. Rose is a beige shade with pink under tone and Apricot is more tinted and it looks more golden.
Here I have taken pictures of me wearing different shades on a different day:
Here’s how shade “rose” looks on me
Rose is a beautiful shade which brightens my skin. The product delivers the promise to give a complexion a fresh and rosy halo. I can see the rosy glow it has on me, However I do feel that this shade is a bit too light for me. The shade still matches my neck well, but once I compare with my arm, I can spot the difference and it kinda looks unnatural anymore.
And here’s how Apricot looks on me
At first, Apricot looks a bit too dark on my skin tone. But after applying it onto my face and blends it out evenly, I find that Apricot suits my skintone better. It is certainly not brightening, but it evens out my skin tone and makes my skin looks healthy.
Mixed: Apricot & Rose
After trying out rose and apricot on their own, I decided to try and mix the two together. The amount of Apricot I applied is 2/3 and rose is 1/3 and I mix them together. The shades comes out to be very nice and it suits my skin tone perfectly. I can see how Apricot complement my skin tone and covers my redness and pores. At the same time, shade rose does its job by giving me that beautiful glow that I love a lot. Other than using it as a base product, I was also using shade rose as a highlighter. Rose is lighter than my actual skin tone, in the picture above I applied it on my under eye area. As a result, my face looks fresh and healthy
Here’s the amount of Rose and Apricot I use for my 3rd look
YSL CC Cream Forever Light Creator is going to be available in March and will be retailing at $79
