Today I am posting my first ever brush review, Tom Ford 06 Cheek Brush. The first time I opened the box of this brush, I immediately knew that I’ve made a right decision to purchase this. The brush looks very sleek, elegant and expensive.
Tom Ford’s beauty products are expensive and rather difficult to get especially for us here in Singapore. Currently we can only get this online. I got this through my mom who was traveling abroad last month.
The brush is very pretty. It’s quite heavy compared to other brushes that I have. I love the elegant and luxurious look of this brush. I have never had a brush as pretty as this The handle is in brown color with “Tom Ford” engraved at the end of the handle.
The brush is extremely soft and dense. I like the feeling when I swipe this onto my cheek, It feels so soft and this brush applies wonderfully. However you need to be careful when using this brush with a very pigmented blush. Just dabbed it lightly and gradually build the color. Few days ago when I tried applying my Le Metier de Beaute Kaleidoscope Blush , I need to dab this brush lightly. Otherwise I would take too much blush color.
For comparison, I took a picture of all my cheek brushes. The Shiseido Chouetools is actually a face brush but I also use it as my cheek brush. MAC 168 is a contour brush which I also use for my cheek occasionally.
If I would have to comment on the packaging and the quality of the brush, I would say that this brush is outstanding. The quality of the brush is very good; it’s soft and dense. However from the price perspective, this brush is only worth buying if you’d like to collect makeup item. I am not sure the exact price about this product but it ranges from $90-$100.

In my latest haul, I picked up few things from Chanel Summer 2012 which are the duo eyeshadow and Chanel bronzing powder in Sable Beige. Seems like everyone in blogosphere adore the duo eyeshadow. And yes count me in! the texture is just lovely and the neutral shade, I was totally sold. The other item I bought is Chanel bronzer in Sable Beige, this item didn’t make it to the wish list in the first place but I bought it anyway.
Swatches of Chanel Sable-Émouvant Eyeshadow Duo, both shades are very pigmented especially the brown one.
I am very happy with the eyeshadow and also the bronzing powder, I haven’t got much time to play around with them until few days ago. As usual apply moisturizer, you don’t want to apply make up on dry skin then Chanel Perfection Lumiere foundation which my latest foundation from Chanel then I applied Burberry concealer (forgot to included in the picture) under my eyes to hide my dark and puffy eyes then set it with loose powder. For the eyes I applied the light color over my eyelids a bit over the crease then apply the darker color from outer eyelid halfway through, blend it with finger or blender blush, then use eyeliner. I used liquid eyeliner from dolly wink which again left out from the picture Sorry! I used false lashes in this FOTD with D-Up lashes glue which I found much better than Duo. For cheeks, I apply bronzer in my upper cheeks then swipe a bit of blush. And last but not least a touch of lipgloss.
Overall, can’t go wrong with neutral shades, hope you like it like I do. Have a good week
Cream eyeshadow is my new addiction. They are very well pigmented and long wearing. Giorgio Armani and Chanel have gorgeous collections of cream eyeshadows. However I would still try some other brands that have good cream eye colors. I have heard great reviews from many bloggers about Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color. I love trying out dark color for cream eye shadow to create nice smokey eye look. I grabbed two colors; BK 912 Caviar and WT 901 Mist
WT 901 Mist is a sheer shimmery eyeshadow that will look great when paired with most dark colors. I just love to see those sparkles and glitters whenever I swatch it on my arms. BK 912 Caviar is a deep black cream color that is very well pigmented. This is definitely my favorite black cream shadow as of now!
I fell in love with this eyeshadow as the texture is just amazing. It’s very smooth and silky. It’s very easy to work with; it blends easily and this works as a great base. BK 912 Caviar is something that I love deeply, it’s buttery and smooth. I like to use this color as a base and I top it with other nude shimmering color. It creates a simple but great combination.
Among few cream shadows I have tried, Shiseido’s texture is the closest to The Make Up Store’s. Both have similar feeling and textures. However, I have not tried many colors with The Make Up Store’s so I can’t comment much. Chanel’s Illusion d’Ombre and Giorgio Armani’s Eyes to Kill have a very different textures with them. They aren’t as smooth as Shiseido’s but they have gorgeous glitters inside.
Overall I am impressed with the quality of these cream shadows and would get few more from Shiseido again.

I have been wearing this eye shadow for few times but didn’t have a chance to write anything about this. But finally I decided to just take few pictures of this product and do a simple EOTD with this product. I love this dual eyeshadow as the color is very wearable and it looks natural. I grab this color because of its combination. The lighter color is a silvery blue with shimmer and the darker color is a dark greyish brown with shimmer.
The texture of this cream shadow is more watery compared to Chanel’s Illusion d’Ombre. However, this also can’t be compared with Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill as ETK has a powdery texture. If this is to be compared with Jill Stuart’s cream shadow, this would be more solid. Jiill Stuart’s cream shadow is a jelly base shadow that contains even more glitters than Maquillage’s.
When I first use this color, I thought this would look very similar to Chanel Illusion d’Ombre in Riviere (reviewed HERE). But after swatching it on my arm, I realized that they are not the same. GR 273 is a more silvery color while Riviere is leaning towards baby blue. The pigmentation of this cream shadow is not disappointing. It’s good enough with few dabs and it’s very easy to be blend with other color. In the picture below, you can see the swatch on my arm and how I applied on my eye.

Here’s a swatch of GR 273 compared to Chanel Riviere:

Hello again everyone! My sister just came visited me here in Sydney yesterday and I asked her to buy few things and she has done a very good job for getting everything on my list yay! As we know here in Sydney everything is overpriced so when someone come visit me, I have to make sure I make the most of it and some Japanese brands are difficult to find here in Sydney.
After reading Meryl’s review about Guerlain Travel Meteorites, I know I have to have it. Its way too cute to resist. Finally I have Shiseido Prefect Foundation Brush, I want them badly but they have sold out everywhere in Sydney and Singapore. I hope its worth the price, you can read the detailed review of this brush in My Beauty Hoard which also the reason I want them so badly!
I have been in dilemma when choosing Dior Spring 2012 collection, I bought Dior Garden Roses eyeshadow palette at the end but the Garden Clutch in Changi Airport not too expensive and I’m totally sold with the pretty packaging. More reviews and swatches coming soon and Have a great weekend everyone!
