What to buy this Christmas? Marc Jacobs Sky-Liner Seven Piece Petite might be the answer!

Hello readers, if you like this page, don't forget to "Like" it !

Today’s post would be on one of my latest purchase which makes me so excited to share the pictures and my thoughts with all of you. This is Marc Jacobs Sky-Liner Seven Piece Petite.  I purchased this last week in Sephora ION when they start selling the holiday gift sets.

I have been loving Marc Jacobs highliner since the first time I tried it. It’s so hard for me to find my HG eyeliner as most brands always smudges on me. MJ highliners is one of the very few eyeliners I’ve tried and has never failed on me. My job requires me to work outdoor occasionally, and when this happen, I have to remember that MJ highliner has to be the one I am using that day, or else my eye make up would be ruined due to smudging eyeliner.

So when I knew MJ is going to release this petite highliners set, I knew I have to get it. This highliners consists of 7 mini eyeliners. What I love about this mini highliners is that the packaging stays the same; the only difference is only the size. It’s great that I don’t need to sharpen this mini highliners and I can just twist it whenever I need to use it.

It comes in a box where I can re-use the box whenever I want to. The box comes in a simple design – just sleek black and it’s a light weight box. It’s very prone to finger prints though, so it kinda amuse me when I wanted to take this photo I had to clean it first (well.. although it doesn’t look that perfectly clean)

Here are there shades available shades in this box (description is taken from Sephora website)

  • O(Vert): forest green
  • Brown(out) : bronze with shimmer
  • Sunset : golden bronze shimmer
  • Midnight in Paris : inky indigo blue
  • Th(ink) : deep navy
  • (Plum)age : vivid purple
  • Blacquer: black

Below is the swatch for these highliners

O(Vert) – Brown(out) – Sunset – Midnight in Paris – Th(ink) : deep navy – (Plum)age – Blacquer

I would say that this set is worth getting. Each mini highliner contains 0.37g, whereas the full size contains 0.5g of product. The mini highliners contains more than half amount of product you are getting the full sized product. I can’t remember the exact price of this set, but it’s definitely not costing you three times the full size product. It’s indeed worth your every cent.

Looking at all the colors provided, I think I would use almost all shades in this set. The only color I don’t see my self wearing too often would be Sunset, but it’s no harm trying out new look with this shade. The rest of the shades looks very wearable on daily use.

**edit: This set is going on for SGD 69 and the single full sized eyeliner is going for SGD 36.

I believe this are still available in Sephora Singapore, do grab them before it’s gone!

Neutral eyeshadow always attracts me no matter how many similar shades I have in my stash. Marc Jacob Style Eyecon in Starlet consists of 7 shades leaning towards neutral shades. Some shades are leaning towards grey tone and some are leaning towards nude shades. In this post, I am going to do a quick review of this eyeshadow palette. Scroll down to see more 🙂

The description of the shades here is taken from Sephora site:

Eye shadows in metallic muted lilac

  • metallic champagne pink
  • metallic dark copper brown
  • metallic bright copper
  • metallic gold
  • metallic bluish silver
  • metallic gunmetal gray

The shades in this palette has shimmery and metallic finish. On my skintone, I would translate the shades into this:

  • The first shade from the left is  a light taupe shade with silver shimmers
  • champagne shade with silver shimmers
  • Espresso shade with golden shimmers
  • Orange Bronzy shade with silver shimmers
  • Green golden shade with silver shimmers
  • gunmetal silver with metallic finish
  • medium toned silver with metallic finish

All the shades here have great pigmentation. The shades pops out on the first swatch and the color glides on easily. The quality of the eyeshadow in this palette is lovely – all shades are buttery and smooth. Upon application, I can barely see any fallout. The swatch posted above is swatched on my bare arm, without any primer! I am very happy with the outcome of the shades. Comparing this palette to The Vamp , I would say that Starlet has more even consistency. The shades in Starlet has more consistent quality.

Final Thoughts:

For anyone who wish to try Marc Jacobs Style Eyecon, I would recommend The Starlet for its consistency. The shades are considered neutrals – these are easy to wear without being too nude or boring. I personally like metallic shade on my eye hence this palette is a yay for me.

Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con No. 7 – Plush Shadow The Vamp Swatches + Quick Review

Marc Jacobs Beauty has made its way to Singapore! It’s been a while that beauty ehnthusiastics were waiting for this brand to arrive in Singapore. I was lucky as I was able to attend the launching of the brand in Sephora few weeks ago. All thanks to my friend who is very kind to ask me to go along with her.

The Vamp is one of the unique palette compared to other MJ Style Eye-Con where it has mixture of neutral shades and colorful shades to play with.

The packaging of MJ Style Eye Con is long and sleek. I find it to be a stylish palette and a nice eye candy. The slim shape makes it an ideal travel companion for me but not for my everyday make up bag. It comes with a fabric pouch with a clip at the end.

IMG_9540.jpg

As the name suggest, this eyeshadow consists of 7 shades ranging from neutrals to unique shades.

From the left :

  • midnight blue with iridescent shimmer
  • silver taupe sheen
  • matte off-white
  • metallic burgundy
  • metallic jade green
  • metallic golden brown
  • black with iridescent shimmer

The shade description is taken from Sephora website.

The eyeshadows in this palette has nice pigmentation. The shade pops up nicely on first layer, but for the swatched below I applied two layers. The texture is generally soft and smooth, but I find that some shade has a smoother texture compared to others. The difference is not that much so I am fine with it.

My favorite shade from this palette has got to be the metallic burgundy and the metallic jade green. I have not worn the burgundy on me but I just love how it looks like when it is swatched on my arm. It looks feminine and the metallic shade adds the beauty into it. The jade green is a stunner to me! It looks glam and it makes a perfect subtle smokey eye for me.
