Jill Stuart Eye Jelly Midnight Shine #09, Crystal Sky #08, Frosty Candy #11

Hello readers, if you like this page, don't forget to "Like" it !

During my trip to Taiwan, I bought few items from Jill Stuart. I bought the blush from their summer collection Lantana Honey 3 eye jellies and few nail polishes. In my post on Lantana Honey, I have shown you my love on Jill Stuart products. I have to say once again that their packaging is gorgeous. In my opinion when you are buying expensive product, firstly you need to make sure that the quality is compromised. Other than that you really need to look at the packaging too. If a packaging of a product is way too normal and yet I need to pay such a hefty price, I don’t think I would get the product. Jill Stuart’s products quality are mainly good and their packaging is fantastic. I have no regret buying their products. In the past I have also reviewed Jill Stuart Eye Jelly in Antique Chiffon #13, you may read the post here

I bought 3 eye jellies during my trip; Midnight Shine #09, Crystal Sky #08, Frosty Candy #11. Firstly, I’m going to review  Midnight Shine:

Midnight Shine is a dark purple shimmer with a hint of black and blue. I fell in love with is the first time I swatch it on my arm, the dazzling shimmer makes me love it even more. According to the SA at Jill Stuart SOGO Taipei, this color is their best selling color. It’s great as it doesn’t look frosty on the eye. This color is recommended for a night look.

Crystal Sky

At first this color didn’t look appealing to me. I was hesitant to get this as the color looks bold enough. I wasn’t sure whether this color would be great as a base or as a crease color. Then the SA told me this color would look good as a base and then I can put a lighter color on my inner corner and put a darker color on my crease. I agreed and finally I bought this. I would describe this as a purple color with a hint of taupe and pink. I have never tried this on my eyes yet but hopefully soon enough I’ll do an FOTD with this.

Frosty Candy

I swatched this together with Midnight Shine and I was sure to get this too. The pink shimmer looks too good to be passed on. When I looked at the swatch, I am sure this would be a good pair to my taupe and dark brown eye shadow. Moreover when I read “frosty candy” on the label, somehow this eyeshadow reminds me of a pink cotton candy. Well I am not a big fan of cotton candy, but I love starring at the cute pink color on cotton candy.

In the pictures below, I swatch the colors both under the sunlight and indoor light.

indoor lighting

I prefer to see the color in indoor lights. They doesn’t look frosty in indoor lights. Whereas in direct sunlight, Crystal Sky and Frosty Candy look a bit frosty. I think I need to be careful when applying these colors on the afternoon. I should make sure that I don’t apply too much of this otherwise it will look frosty.

Final thought:

From these 3 eye jellies, Midnight Shine is my absolute favorite. It’s gorgeous and would look great even if it’s applied by itself. Frosty candy is a good base color for a neutral eye look. Crystal Candy is a good-to-have eye shadow. It’s not bad but good enough; if you’re a Jill Stuart fan, go and get it.

For those of you who wish to buy Jill Stuart online, you can get it in ichibankao.com or adambeauty.com (I am not affiliated with any of these sites)

Jill Stuart Haul and Summer 2012 Blush #14 Lantana Honey Review

Currently I am such a blush and cream shadow hunter. Call me crazy but every time I see a nice blush or cream shadow, I feel like buying them. I bough these products when I went to Taiwan last month. I love it so much there and I bought many items there, you can see my haul post HERE . In this post I am only going to review Blush #14 Lantana Honey, I will be writing review for the 3 eye jellies in a different post.

Honestly I am not a big fan of Jill Stuart and its cutie princess packaging. Somehow it’s too cute for my liking. However Jill Stuart products have won my heart. Although I am not a fan of princess type packaging, I have to say I love Jill Stuart 🙂

Jill Stuart Blush has the prettiest packaging ever. I love to see the design of the packaging and the color combination of the blushes. Staring at them makes me happy.

The blush I am reviewing today is from Jill Stuart Summer 2012 Collection; #14 Lantana Honey. You can see the Jill Stuart summer collection in the gorgeous Rouge Deluxe blog When mixed together, you’ll get a pink blush with a hint of shimmer. The blush is also equipped with a brush. I have to say that this brush is the best complimentary brush in a palette. I am sure I won’t have to bring another blush brush when I am travelling. This brush is good enough to be used.

As you can see in the swatch above, when the blush is blended altogether it looks pinkish with a bit of peach in this picture. I love pinkish cheek as it brighten up my whole look. When I want to have a more pigmented cheek color, I will just swipe my brush on the colors at the bottom. The two colors at the top can also be used as a highlighter for the cheeks or even brow bone.

I am comparing this blush with some other blush in my stash that I think would be quite similar, they are Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in Rose , NARS Orgasm and MAC Peachy Keen.

As you can see, Jill Stuart is the pinkest among all colors. NARS Orgasm and MAC Peachy Keen looks quite similar. I have written a comparison between MAC Peachy Keen and NARS Orgasm for your reference. You can see how this blush look on my cheek in the picture below.

Thank you for reading and hope you like it 🙂

Jill Stuart Eye Jelly in Antique Chiffon 13

Holla! Today I’m reviewing a brand that we have never reviewed before. Jill Stuart is a famous Japanese make up brand that sells their make up in a cute packaging. I have heard that Jill Stuart’s cream shadows have a unique texture.Unfortunately, Jill Stuart does not have any counter in Singapore or Sydney. So few months ago when I went to Japan I grabbed this Jill Stuart cream shadow.

Yes I agree that the packaging is really cute. It’s a very Japanese themed design. I am not a big fan of cute Japanese design but I would not mind to have few. Although I don’t really go for Japanese themed products, I should agree that Japanese cosmetics’ quality is very good. Thus I am very sure that Jill Stuart’s Eye Jelly would have a great quality too! 🙂

The texture of this eye jelly is unique. It’s a jelly like eyeshadow. It’s not creamy or powdery, it’s jelly like. Antique chiffon is a brown color with a hint of grey. This color is a great color for make up base. The eyeshadow is well pigmented and easy to apply. There are lots of shimmer in this eye jelly but it’s very controllable. It won’t make you look having too much make up. Also this eye jelly last long. It does not smudge easily .Oh, and this eye jelly is . It has a candy smell.

And here’s the swatch for you all!

Antique Chiffon is the eyeshadow color that I’m wearing on the inner part of my eye lid. Looking a bit too sheer? I don’t think so, I guess it’s because of the poor lighting where I took this picture. Trust me, it looks much better in reality rather than in pictures! 🙂

Hope you enjoy this post and wish you have a lovely week ahead!
