Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Foundation #3

Dearest readers,

I would like to apologize that I have been missing on the blog for a week. It has been a very busy week for me on my work life and my personal life too. By the time I reached home, I’d feel so tired and has no energy even to just browse beauty blog or watch youtube videos. Now that I have my time to blog, I guess I’d write about something that I have been loving a lot lately :)

I am sure many of you have heard or used Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Foundation . I bought this foundation last month when I had a short trip to Hongkong. I tried this foundation at Giorgio Armani counter and immediately fell in love with the texture. To read more about the details, please keep reading :)

The Packaging:

Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Foundation is packed in a matte looking glass bottle with a black cap. The design of the bottle is very simple yet looking sleek. I guess most of Giorgio Armani products possess such image to me; simple yet sleek.

IMG_5011The Texture/Lasting Power

This foundation is targeted to people with dry skin, so the texture is creamy and feels very soft. I like the feeling when I tried it on my hands, it feels smooth and blends very well. The coverage is medium to full coverage. For my whole face, I usually pump once or twice (depending on where I am going on that day).  My skin type is normal-combination. My cheek area can sometimes be a little bit dry. So on those days, Designer Lift foundation is my #1 choice. It helps to hydrate my skin throughout the day.

So far this foundation lasts for 10 hours with me without fading. I am very contented with the lasting power of this product because my daily foundation routine does not consist of primer. I hardly use primer unless I know it’s going to be a long day for me. Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Foundation lasts for 10 hours with me even without primer.

The Shade/Swatch:

As you can see in the swatches below, this foundation blends in beautifully onto my skin. It leaves a dewy finish without making your face looks oily. I am a MAC NC20 and I chose #3; the shade looks closest to my skintone.

Final Thought:

I have been using this product for the past 1 month and so far I have been loving it a lot. On the days when my skin feels dry, I can feel that this foundation helps to hydrate my skin and moreover it lasts on my face for 10 hours without fading. Need I say more? I just love it!

Quick Swatch: Maybelline Color Tattoo is now available in Singapore

Hi ladies,

Memoiselle has been quiet for the last few days because of Chinese New Year holiday. Now I am back to my daily activities and would like to show you a quick swatch of Maybelline Color Tattoo. Color tattoo is finally available in Singapore after so long! It has been available since late 2012 but only now I found myself time to start posting on this.

I am sure many of you have seen Color Tattoo reviews online and I hope it’s still fine for me to write something about it :) Please stay tune to know more.

The Packaging:

Maybelline Color Tattoo has a similar packaging design with Chanel Illusion d’Ombre and Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill. The pot is made of glass and has a black cap. I have snapped a comparison picture for Maybelline’s color tattoo packaging with the two other brands and as you can see in the picture below, it looks quite similar. I personally love the packaging of Color Tattoo; it looks simple and nice. It doesn’t look cheap at all.

The Texture and Lasting Power:

Color tattoo has a very similar texture to Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow. It’s easy to wear as a base or crease color. So far I have been using Color Tattoo as a base color and it works very well on me. The pigmentation is good, the color shows up in just first swipe.

On the lasting power, I think Maybelline color tattoo is famous for its great staying power. At first I was kind of skeptical and doesn’t believe that Color Tattoo stays for long. But when I tried it on me, it stays for the whole day and I only see a very minimal crease because I have an oily lids.  This is very satisfying! :)

Swatches:

The Color:

Bad to The Bronze – As the name says, it’s a bronze color with a slight shimmer.

Permanent Taupe – A matte greyish taupe. I see this more as a grey color rather than taupe. I find this color rather flat and boring.

Edgy Emerald – It’s a very nice jade green color which is also the pantone 2013 color. Definitely my favorite :)

Immortal Charcoal – An ashy grey, best for base smokey eye color. I love this color, it looks sexy ;)

Turquoise Forever – It’s truly a turquoise color as the name says. It’s a fun color that reminds me of a colorful peacock.

Final Thought:

Maybelline Color Tattoo is a very good choice for creaseless cream shadow in an affordable price. The packaging looks simple and nice, the texture is nice to be blended and to be used as a base too. Last but definitely not least, the staying power is awesome!

Maybelline Color Tattoo is now available in Singapore, retailing at S$15.90

Tom Ford Blush in Flush

I am so excited that Tom Ford is opening its counter in Tangs Orchard!

I am such a blush addicts that everytime I heard people are raving about a brand, I need to try the blush. I have read many positive review about the quality of this blush. I bought Tom Ford blush in Flush from Tangs Orchard when they are having 12% rebate for the cardmembers. This blush is retailing for SGD 85. It’s a very expensive blush for me and I am expecting a very high quality product for the price I have paid.

Firstly I’d like to talk about the packaging. It’s made of gold metal casing that feels quite heavy. There’s a velvet pouch given for every blush. There’s a “Tom Ford” logo embossed at the front of the blush. Call me superficial but this kind of luxurious packaging always call my name and I always fall into temptation on getting this blush. There is no small brush or applicator included in this blush.

Flush is a peachy coral blush with fine shimmers. The texture is very soft, pigmented and it blends beautifully on my skin. The moment I touched this on the counter, I can feel that the formula is awesome. It is so pigmented that you only need to dab your brush once (or twice) lightly and gently pat it on your face. You can always build up the color if you think the color does not pop enough.

In the swatch below, you can see how pigmented the blush is. On the left is one swipe of the blush, and on the right side is one swipe of the blush and blended.

I have swatched some blushes that might look similar.

I would say that there’s no exact dupe to Tom Ford Flush. The closest would be Nars Deep Throat, but Nars seems to be sheerer than Tom Ford flush. I have reviewed all the blushes swatched above except Nars Deep Throat. You can find the review for the blushes here:

Chanel Blush de Horizon

Nars Orgasm

Illamasqua Hussy

Bobby Brown Peony

I have created a look with Tom Ford flush:

The products used in this look:

Guerlain Terra Azzura by Emillio Pucci, YSL Lip Stain no 7, Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill no 25, Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner in Black, Shu Uemura eyebrow pencil

Final Thought:

Tom Ford blush delivers what I have expected from a high end blush. The texture are not disappointing; blends very nice, the pigmentation is superb and the packaging looks luxurious. The only downside I see is the price. Tom Ford products are very expensive but that might be the reason why people are lemming about it too ;)

Have you ever tried any Tom Ford blushes/ products before? Tell me what you think :)

Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Acqua Collection

So happy that finally I am able to write a post on Eyes to Kill Acqua Collection :)  I am sure many of you have read the reviews of this collection. The review of Acqua collection has been flooded everywhere in the beauty blogosphere. I must say that Acqua Collection is superb! The Eyes to Kill range is fabulous and worth a look.

I bought 3 shades from this collection. Honestly there are more colors that I wanted but I stopped myself at 3 pots. I don’t think I need to introduce how gorgeous the pigmentation of this eyeshadow is. It’s buttery smooth and long lasting! :)

#25 Rusted Gold

As a fan of browns, Rusted Gold definitely caught my attention. It’s a mixture of gold, and copper black. It’s a gorgeous color to be worn itself. What I love about this color is that when swatched, it does not come out as a gold but rather a coppered gold.

#27 Oxidised Silver

This is a very unique color. It’s a mixture of coral and silver. It looks very pretty in the pan. When swatched, it turned out to be rather pink with a dark purple tone.

#28 Red Platine

It’s a mixture of gold and red. When swatched, it looks more towards gold brown to me. On me, I think this color needs to be mixed with other darker eyeshadow. Otherwise, my eyes would look swollen :p

In the picture below, you can see the swatches under indoor lighting and direct sunlight.

I did a look with Red Platine. You can see the color looks natural but I would prefer to mix this color with other darker eyeshadow to make my eyes look bigger.

Eye Makeup:

Red Platine, Shu Uemura Eyebrow Pencil, Revlon Eyeliner, Maybelline Falsies Mascara

Cheeks:

Blush Horizon de Chanel , Urban Decay Buck from NAKED Palette as a bronzer, Urban Decay Sin from NAKED Palette as a highlighter.

Lip:

Chanel Rouge Coco Allure in #23 Discrete

I hope this post helps :) Which shade do you like best?

Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill #21 Obsidian Grey Swatches

I think one can never have enough Eyes to Kill. I am sure most of you know how amazing this range of eyeshadow is. Great pigmentation, alluring look on the pan, smudge proof and it lasts all day long even without primer.  This collection consists of  4 Eyes to Kill eyeshadow (#20 Obsidian Black, #21 Obsidian Grey, #22 Ecailles, #23 Madre Perla). However so far I am only attracted to #20 Obsidian Black, #21 Obsidian Grey. I have not bought Obsidian Black and trying very hard to resist the temptation of having another black eyeshadow which I already have a few.

Obsidian Grey is a silver color with teal shimmer. I can see a hint of khaki shade there. When swatches in direct sunlight, it looks flashy. But when swatches in indoor lighting, it looks a bit darker than it looks in the pan.

Swatches:

I agree with Christine from Temptalia saying that this color is easily dupeable. I don’t have any intense eyeshadow in a very intense color so this is a very good excuse for me to get this one. I know it’s easy to get the dupe of this eyeshadow but it’s hard to get the color as intense and as long lasting as ETK.

Eye Makeup Used:

Eyes to Kill Obsidian Grey, Chanel Mirifique , L’Oreal Infallible in Sassy Marshmallow, Revlon Black Eyeliner, Shu Uemura Eyebrow pencil, Maybelline Falsies Mascara

Cheeks: Lunasol Glowing Powder Cheeks in EX03 Pure Coral Pink, Burberry Summer Glow

Lip: L’Oreal Miss Orange from Miss Candy Collection

Final Thought:

Obsidian Grey is a good choice for a smokey eye look. It’s a very pretty metallic silver that pops in the eye. Honestly for S$41 this is quite expensive considering you can find many dupe for this. Although I don’t have any regret on buying this, I still think that this is not a must have eyeshadow.

We have reviewed many Eyes To Kill:

#1 Blast of Blue and #3Purpura

#8 Champagne

#7 Sweet Fire #2 Lust Red

Which one is your favorite eyes to kill? :)

Thank you for reading.
