Dior Gel Shine and Long Wear Nail Lacquer Swatches – Aventure & Pandore

Hello readers, if you like this page, don't forget to "Like" it !

Nail Lacquer is my day to day essential. Firstly it’s because I have a bad nail bitting habit years ago and it was salvaged by nail polish. Since then, I always explore new nail polishes formula and love trying new brands too. I had a love hate relationship with Dior Nail Lacquer before, but I hope it’s going to change after knowing this one.

So I picked up these two. I love bright nail polish shades especially when it comes to red and bold orange.

I have applied these nail polishes quite frequently these days. Dior claims that this range of newly formulated nail polish will make your nail shine like a glass. Dior delivers their promise – Aventure and Pandore has stunning shine that makes my nails looks like some gel nail polish has been applied.

The texture of Pandore and Aventure is consistent. The texture is nor too thick neither too runny. I applied two coats for full opacity. These nail polish stays chip free for almost a week.

IMG_9604.jpgHere’s the brush of Dior Vernis Gel Effect as shown in the picture above.

As you may see in the picture above, The brush on the top is the new Dior Vernis while the one below is the older version of Dior Vernis. The new Dior vernis is thinner and wider in shape. I am loving the shape of the brush as it helps me to pick up the amount of product as what I need. The application process is easy and the brush glides on easily without leaving any visible strokes.

So here’s Aventure – a bright and bold orange. I must say that I can easily say that this has been the best orange nail polish I have found – so far. Love love love the shade!

Pandore is a deep red. The red shade is so lovely – something that never goes wrong for every occasion; date night, work, or just a casual day.

Final Thought:

I am so happy that Dior is reformulating their nail polishes. The formula of these are gorgeous, it makes nail polish application so easy. I love the shades that I picked up, something that I have on my nail on most days! This is a must try 😉

Dior Fluid Stick in 575 Wonderland and 669 Rose Tricheuse

It’s a lippie day! Dior launched Fluid Stick few weeks ago in ION Orchard and all the hype has been going around. I went to check out the colors and fell in love immediately with the texture and the finish on my lips.

Dior fluid stick is a hybrid lip product – the opacity and the pigmentation of this product resembles lipstick and the it has the glossy finish of a gloss.

Dior Addict Fluid Stick enables a flawless application in a single sweep: the high-impact colour and long wear of a classic lipstick, combined with the shine of a gloss, all in a thin film that delivers sensational comfort. Colour and shine come together as one for maximum impact with intense, long-wearing lip stain pigments directly encapsulated in spheres of gloss. Dior Addict Fluid Stick does not contain wax, but water for maximum lightness, an immediate fresh effect and addictive comfort

Dior Fluid Stick is packaged in a beautiful and luxurious glass packaging which has a similar cap to Dior Addict Gloss. There’s a transparent part of the packaging which allows you to see the color of each gloss.

Dior Fluid Stick can give sheer finish and also a full opacity finish. if I wish to have sheer finish, I will apply one layer and spread it all over my lip. In this way, the gloss is visible but the color is less opaque. I personally prefer to use Fluid Stick with full opacity to reveal the true color of the product. The product contains high gloss finish. This product is also very friendly to dry lips. It does not emphasize my dry lips nor it does not shows any flakiness of my lips while it’s dry.

The brush of Fluid stick comes with a sponge applicator. It is rather big for a lipgloss / liquid lipstick product, but it does help the application to be smooth. It has a pointed tip at the end of the brush to help a more precise application.

IMG_9517.jpg I picked shade 575 Wonderland and 669 Rose Tricheuse. I am surprised that I am picking up these two shades as they look very bright. If you have been reading my post for a while, I have always preferred to use soft pink or nude lipstick over red and bright orange. I had been looking around for the right bright coloured lips shade for me and I know I have found it! Dior Fluid Stick has made me feel confident wearing bold shades like these.

Here’s the swatch of 575 Wonderland on my lips. Wonderland is a bright red pink.

and here’s 669 Rose Tricheuse – I find this shade leans more towards orangey red but it is more wearable than Wonderland.

This is certainly a great lipstick range from Dior especially for the bright shades. I have not tried any shade from the nude-ish range but so far the bright shades didn’t disappoints me. The gloss and the finish brighten ups my complexion. These shades lasts on me for about 2-3 hours before it begins to fade. I find that these stains a bit on my lip – so I’ll make sure that I clean it with lip remover on the end of every day.

Diorblush Cheek Creme in Capri

Dior has recently launched a mini collection “Dior Summer Mix” which consist of 4 pairs of nail polishes and cream blushes. The shades released looks very fun to be mix and match for summer. When a brand like Dior is releasing a new Limited Edition blush collection in a new formula, many beauty bloggers (including me :p) will go gaga over it! I picked up Capri out of the 4 shades as I love pink blushes more than corals 🙂

Dior-Mix-and-Match-Cream-Blushes-and-Nail-Polishes-for-Summer-2013-shades-658x446I don’t have many cream blushes in my stash. In fact, this is my 2nd tube of cream blush that I have. I personally prefer powder blush as I always use a setting powder after my foundation routine. But in times when I want to have a more popping blush shade, I like to use cream blush after my foundation, topped it with my setting powder and top it with a light powder blush. In this way, the blush will lasts longer.

Dior cream blush comes in a glass pot with CD logo on top of the cap. The packaging reminds me of Chanel Illusion d’Ombres. It’s quite heavy and it looks luxurious. When you open the blush cap, you can see the pop of color in the pot. It looks like a bubblegum macaroon to me. It screams “CUTE”!! 🙂

Diorblush cheek creme shades looks very striking in the pot, but you need to swatch it yourself to see that it is actually not as pigmented as what you see. In terms of texture, Diorblush cream feels a bit dry to me. It’s not too creamy and I find that this is suitable for ladies with oily skin. Ladies with oily skin need not to worry about their skin being more oily with Dior cream blush. I usually use two layers of this cream blush after my foundation. The first layer doesn’t look noticeable to me, so usually I will add another layer. This cream blush is very easy to blend, and you don’t need to worry that this blush looks too much on you. Just dab on lightly and add on more layer when you feel that it’s not enough.

As you can see in the swatch above, the swatches on the left side looks much more pigmented than the one on the right side. On the left side, I swatched on 3 layers while on the right side, I dabbed on a light two layers and I blend it together. Capri looks very pretty on the pan and when swatched.

Final Thought:

Diorblush Cheek Creme is worth checking out! You shouldn’t be worried that this gives you too much color on your cheek or makes your skin oily 🙂

Diorskin Nude Tan Paradise Duo – 001 Pink Glow

I know I have acquired quite a number of bronzers lately and I know that I don’t need more of it. But when I saw the promo pictures of Dior Summer 2013 collection, I immediately drool over Diorskin Nude Tan Paradise Duo. I missed last year’s Dior Skin Nude Tan so I wouldn’t want to miss this one anymore. It’s too pretty to resist! :p

Dior Skin Nude Tan Paradise Duo comes in two shades – Coral Glow and Pink Glow. I picked Pink glow because I like pink better as a blush. Coral pink looks awesome too! You can check the review of Coral Glow in Mostly Sunny’s Blog

The Packaging:

Dior Nude Tan comes in a hefty silver metal packaging. It’s prone to finger print (I had a hard time capturing the photo of the silver casing!). It also comes with a mini kabuki brush- it’s a perfect brush to be brought when you’re travelling.  The hair is soft and the size is just nice to be used as a blush brush or a bronzer brush. Both products come with a velvety pouch.

The Shade & Texture:

What I love about this product is that it consist of two shades of bronzers and two shades of blush. I can easily choose the shade I want to use or I can just mix them altogether.

I am glad that the bronzer doesn’t come with shimmer – it’s not totally matte but you can barely see any shimmer particles on your face. It gives you a very nice glow without having any shimmers. The bronzer has a soft texture and is very well pigmented, it shows up on my face nicely in one swipe. Don’t worry about having too much product on your face; although it is nicely pigmented, it won’t be too much with two swipes.

The blush’s texture is very soft and buttery. It’s very well pigmented and I just need to lightly dab my brush to get the color. The blush has more sheen compared to the bronzer. I really love the sheen of this blush, it makes my face looks glowy without making it look like a disco ball.

Indoor Lighting

Outdoor (Indirect Sunlight)

On these sets of pictures below, I mixed the bronzer and the blush together

Indoor Lighting

Outdoor – Indirect Sunlight

As you can see in the swatches above, the finish of these product has a very nice sheen to give enough glow on your face without making it look like a disco ball. The color swipes nicely on my face and when swatched.

I hope my review is helpful 🙂

Dior Grand Bal Nail Polish in Marilyn and Diva

Hello all,

Finally the swatch of Dior Grand Bal is up! Marilyn and Diva are the polishes that I picked from Dior Grand Bal collection. Marilyn was the first that I picked because red is my favorite nail polish shade. Then Diva caught my attention during Sephora 20% member sale. I couldn’t resist getting Diva thus here are my choices!

Dior Grand Bal packaging is very special. Just looking at the bottles could make me feel happy 😉 What makes me happy beside the wonderful packaging is that the brush of these polishes are thinner than the usual Dior brushes. It makes the application process much easier.

I guess the name Marilyn is very appropriate with the red shade. Marilyn reminds me of Marilyn Monroe; her sexiness, her attractiveness and her passion. Marilyn is a jelly red polish. The formula is just nice; not too runny and not too thick. It applies well on the first coat but it looks very thin. But on the 2nd coat, it looks flawless and just perfect.

Diva is a black creme polish with tiny gold glitters. The glitters spread evenly in the bottles. The application of Diva requires two coats to achieve full opacity. The glitters spreads evenly during the application too. However I was expecting that the glitters would look more obvious on the nails; just like what it looks like on the bottle. In real life, you can see the glitters slightly better than what’s captured here.

To make it more lively, I added one coat of Nothern Lights Holographic top coat in silver as swatched below.

Final Thought:

Dior Grand Bal polishes are certainly nice to have polishes because of its beautiful bottle. The formula does not disappoint and the brush helps the application works much easier than the usual Dior brushes. The colors are not unique, you can easily find something similar for these polishes especially Marilyn.

Thank you for reading.
