Bobbi Brown Nail Lacquer in Turquoise

Another nail polish post :)

Bobbi Brown recently launched Dessert Twilight collection. There are three nail polishes in this collection; Turquoise, Twilight and another one which only sold together in a set (I could not find the name). It’s exciting to see Bobbi Brown releasing a limited nail polish collection. I don’t know whether Bobbi Brown has released any nail polish in the past but since I am too curious about the quality of their nail polishes, I know I should get my hands on any of these colors :)

Initially I almost picked twilight because of it’s beautiful shimmer but I thought I have had few polishes that looks quite similar to twilight. I decided to get turquoise because it looks unique and unusual.

Firstly, I am going to write a review on  the brush of this nail lacquer. Sorry if the picture of the brushes does not look appealing :)

As you can see, Bobbi Brown’s brushes is very thin. It’s quite similar to Chanel’s. However it’s shorter than Chanel. Bobbi Brown’s brush is not wide at all. It’s the same length as Essie but I feel that it’s thinner is size too. I prefer wider brushes like OPI’s or Ciate’s. It helps me to apply nail polish easier and faster. Whereas with Bobbi Brown’s brush, it would take 2-3 times of application of each nail (especially the thumbs and the middle finger). I had no problem with the handle; the length and the size is good for me to control the nail polishing process :)

Now I’d like to compare Turquoise with other blue nail polish I have in my stash.

Obviously none of them are dupe. At first I thought Turquoise would look similar to Dior Nirvana. Surprisingly, they look very different. China Glaze For Audrey is the lightest among them all and OPI Ski Teal We Drop has the darkest tone among the four.

In the pictures below, you can see the swatches of this nail polish. The texture of this nail polish is not fantastic, it’s a little bit thick to apply but still manageable. It took two coats to achieve full opacity. This nail polish lasts perfectly for 5 days with me. On the next day I start to see some chips on few of my nails (FYI I do wash dishes, type on keyboard everyday)

Final Thought:

Turquoise is a unique shade to own. Especially this is from Bobbi Brown that has never released any nail polish collection before (correct me if I am wrong here). The formula is not the best among many brands out there; I did not have the best time of nail polishing process because its formula. However it’s not that streaky until it’s very frustrating to apply (I had that experience before with some other brands :( ) In conclusion, I think this is a nice to have product but definitely not a must have product.

I also has posted a review on one of Bobbi Brown’s lip gloss from Dessert Twilight Collection. You can read it here

Have you seen Bobbi Brown’s Nail Polish in the counter? :)

Thank you for reading.

Strawberry Margarita

Hello!
Do you guys love strawberry? I do :) Strawberry is indeed a very cute fruits which contains lots of vitamin C. They are low in calories and it’s my favorite fruit whenever I need to lose weight ;)

I bought this OPI nail polish because of the bright pink color it has and the cute name under the bottles. Strawberry Margarita, how can it be cuter?

I hope the fun color in this post will bring happiness to your day!

China Glaze Metallic Crackle Tarnished Gold | Swatches and Review

I was so excited to see that finally China Glaze’s metallic crackle is arriving in Singapore! :)

I’m not really into shatter or crackle polish but gold crackle? Yes it’s a must for me! Gold color is such an elegant and gorgeous color.

China Glaze metallic crackle comes in 6 different colors:

China Glaze Cracked Medallion, China Glaze Haute Metal, China Glaze Latticed Lilac, China Glaze Oxidized Aqua, China Glaze Platinum Pieces, China Glaze Tarnished Gold.

In this post, I’m going to swatch China Glaze Tarnished Gold. As I have written above, I have been waiting for gold shatter/crackle for a long time and yes I’m excited to write about this :)

This is a golden brown color. The shimmer is very rich and yet it cracks very well. In comparison to OPI’s shatter collection, I have to admit that China Glaze did it better. It cracks in a bigger gap thus we can see through the base color easier.

I applied this color to two nail polishes. The first one is OPI so many clowns, so little time from the femme de cirque collection

I applied two coats of so many clowns, so little time then a layer of top coat. As you can see, the gold color is so gorgeous and it cracks very well. However, I don’t think this crackle goes very well with sheer/pale color. It looks dull for me.

After applying it over a pale color, I tried applying it over a dark color. Here is how it goes:

Look how outstanding it is!!! I definitely looove this crackle over a dark polish. It really shows both color. The base color here is OPI Lincoln Park after Dark. You can see how the metallic shimmer are crackled in my nails. In order to get this result, you need to apply a thick layer of crackle polish.

I will have another post about China Glaze’s metallic polish, and I’m working on it :) I will post it few days later.

So guys, what do u think about this polish? Do you like it?

Xoxo,

MeMo :)

Simple Princess Nail Art

Hello fashion & beauty lovers!!

This is going to be my 2nd post on nail polishes. This nail design is a very pretty design. It’s so princess shimmery type but at the same time it still holds a classic simplicity of french manicure. I did this manicure in a very short time. But you just need more patience in waiting the polishes to dry because there are few layers on your nails.

Here we go:

After painting your nail with your base coat, add a pink color in your french tips. I’m using China Glaze’s something sweet. Paint it 2 coats on your nails to get an opaque results. Wait until it dry. Some other color that might be similar to this color is OPI Panda-monium Pink (Hong Kong Collection) and OPI Steady As She Rose (Pirates of the Caribbean Collection)

Next, you may apply a shimmery nail polish all over your nails. This time I’m using OPI Princesses Rule. This color is a shimmery pink color. I looove this color as this pink color is not over pinkish. :) I applied 2 coats of polish in this picture. You may also apply 1 coat of polish if you want a less shimmery look.

After you have finished painting your shimmery nail polish, dont forget to seal your polish with a top coat. This is very important to prevent them from chipping and to make them more shiny :)

That’s all from us!
