Tom Ford Eye Color Duo in Crushed Indigo

Having reviewed Raw Jade and showcasing other Tom Ford Spring 2015 collection in my previous blogpost (click here for the post), I am glad to show you the swatch and my quick review of Tom Ford Eye Color Duo in Crushed Indigo. Thanks to Linda from Silverkis for being so kind to lend me her eyeshadow duo for me to try :)

Tom Ford Crushed Indigo looks kind of mundane to me in the pan, but don’t let your eyes fool you! Once I have it swatched on my arms, I knew this is not an ordinary blue, it’s a very lovely indigo blue paired with the opaline shade that lifts up my eyelid and makes my eye looks bigger instantly.

IMG_5393

Just like the other Tom Ford eyeshadow duo which I have reviewed, This duo can be worn wet and dry. When it is applied wet, the color intensity looks better. You can see the shimmer more clearly when it is swatched wet.

Comparing Raw Jade and Crushed Indigo, I would say that the quality of Raw Jade seems to be more consistent. Raw Jade seems to have less fallout compared to Crushed Indigo. While Crushed Indigo does not fail my expectation, Raw Jade seems to deliver better quality and it stays for a longer hour compared to Raw Jade. I have no complain over the pigmentation, Crushed Indigo has excellent pigmentation and the color pops very nicely on the first swatch. Moreover, Crushed Indigo is one of the blue that I find very flattering on my skintone.

Bellabox February 2015 – Fresh Beginning

Hi babes!

I am still in the Lunar New Year mood where it’s a new beginning for us all who celebrate it! This month’s Bellabox theme is Fresh Beginning – which goes along well with my mood :) Now let’s take a quick look at the content of February Bellabox!

IMG_5382

February Bellabox contains two full sized products and other sample sized products that are worthy to try on. Firstly, the item that gets me most excited is the LAQA & CO Lip Lube Pencil. There are 4 shades available; Stranger Danger, Beezlebub, The boss or Bees Knees. I received Stranger Danger on my box – it’s a lovely sheer hot pink packed in a cute packaging. It’s hydrating and it’s the color that you can wear day and night look. Retailing at s$26.50, This is available in Bellabox Shop.

Another full sized product available in February Bellabox is Glyderm Stretch Mark Cream. This stretch mark cream comes in a affordable price, 60ML for S$14.90 and 125ML for S$23.90. Glyderm Stretch Mark Cream is specially formulated with dual function cream to reduce strech mark size and skin elasticity in time.

Other than stretch mark cream, Bellabox February also has Skyendor Body Sculpt (Abdomen Sculpting Emulsion). Specific emulsion formulated to soften the swollen appearance of the abdomen area, and slenderise the waist. This is retailing at S$280 for 250ML; as this is not the most affordable item for every one, the sample provided would be a great tool to try! :)

Curel is providing few products samples – Make Up Cleansing Gel, Moisture Lotion III, UV Protection Milk. Curel is a Japanese brand focusing more on sensitive skin. Their product is formulated with Ceramide Function to replenish Ceramide Loss in our skin.

A new brand for me to explore is Goodal Oil Plus Skin Mist and Goodal Repair Plus Anti Wrinkle Cream. The skin Mist sounds interesting to me as this is a toner, essence and instant moisturiser in one bottle! Whenever I feel my skin is dry and need an express reboot, this could be a good help. The skin mist is retailing at S$39.90 for 148ML and the Anti Wrinkle Cream is S$45.90 for 100ML.

February Bellabox is giving out a bonus product – Tealy Summer Green Tea. A sip of green tea with subtle sweetness would be a lovely perk me up drink in this hot weather in Sunny Singapore. You can get this tea in Bellabox Shop  , selling at S$17 for 15 teabags, and S$25 for 30 teabags.

GUERLAIN Écrin 4 Couleurs in Les Precieux for Spring 2015

It’s so wonderful to see non pink eyeshadow shades this Spring. Many brands have released bolder shades for Spring 2015, and although Les Precieux is not the boldest among them all, the colors are not too girly for my liking yet not too bold for a daily shades. Between the two palettes Guerlain released for Spring 2015 Les Tendres, I didn’t think for long to pick this one compared to Les Nuées as the deep green caught my immediate attention.

The colors in this palette are:

#1: a deep green with shimmers. The pigmentation of this color is good, the color shows on the first swatch. What I love most about this green is that the color payoff is lovely, and the shimmer is not too much.

#2: a sheer pale pink with frosty finish. This shade is not my favorite in this palette as it doesn’t suit my skintone to use it as a base color nor as a highlighter.

#3: a pale ivory shade with heavy shimmers.

#4: bronzy shade with shimmers. This is a gorgeous bronze that will be wearable on most skin tones.

How do I like this eyeshadow palette?

The shades in this eyeshadow palette has inconsistent quality. I would say so because although the green and the bronze applies smoothly, I find that the pale pink and the ivory shade has some fallouts. In terms of lasting power, I shall say that this are good for about 7 hours with primers. The color stays put and does not crease within 7 hours. As for the color combination in the palette, I must say that this palette leans more towards daily use or elegant look. I am still playing and experimenting on how to create a more fun look with this palette. Nevertheless, I think this palette is worth a try if you’re a sucker for deep greens like me.

Below is a simple look I did with this eyeshadow palette. For this look, I use the bronze as the base color and blend it all over my eyelid. To create a more in depth look, I added the deep green shade on my outer corner and above my eyelid very softly. For my inner corner, I used a pointy eye brush to apply the pale ivory shade. And for the last touch, I applied the sheer pink shade nearer to my eyebrow and use it as a highlighter.

Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow – Review

After all the hype of Guerlain Les Tendres for Spring 2015, I finally decided to write down what I think of the new Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow. To tell you frankly, the first thing that attracts me to get this product is the name.. BABY GLOW! Yes glow, the healthy glow that I really need right now. My skin has been looking quite dry and dull due to hormonal changes, so when this product is hitting Singapore shore, I ran and grab it immediately LOL!

IMG_5265

Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow comes in a squeezable tube with pump.

IMG_5267

Guerlain market this product not as a BB Cream or foundation but as a light revealing sheer make up. This is supposed to give you the glow that Meteorites gives but in the liquid form. It also promises to enhance the radiance of the complexion and wipe away signs of daily fatigue and stress.

Meteorites Baby Glow comes in 3 shades with 2Clair being the lightest, I picked 2 Clair and the swatch is as below. I find that shade 2 Clair is a tad too dark for me, I would love it even more if it comes in a lighter shade.

IMG_5270

IMG_5269

After trying this out many many times, I am happy to report that Meteorites baby glow provides the glow that it promise. Although it is quite sheer and not able to cover up my redness perfectly, I love the finish and the glow Meteorites Baby Glow provides. It has a matte finish yet it gives that healthy glow that I need. This is one of the liquid base that I don’t always use setting powder on top of it. It stays for a good 6-7 hours before it oxidises. With setting powder, it lasts up to 8-9 hours with me. Meteorites Baby Glow has the Guerlain Meteorites scent – I personally have been very sensitive to smell these days and it would be nicer if the product is not too heavily scented.

Comparing Meteorites baby glow with some other Guerlain’s make up base, I would say that all these 3 products below provides a different finish and texture. In terms of coverage, Lingerie de Peau provides the best coverage and the finish is more dewy compared to the healthy glow that Baby Glow provides. Comparing to BB Hydra, Baby glow has a more pinkish tone in it and BB Hydra leans more towards yellowish tone. The texture of BB Hydra is also more watery compared to Baby Glow.

IMG_5272

Guerlain meteorites baby glow is a permanent product, so there’s no need to hurry to get this asap. Give it a try at the counter first and see if you will like the texture. As a final thought, I would say that Meteorites Baby Glow does not disappoint me. It provides the healthy glowing skin and fades away the fatigue looking skin. Moreover the staying power of this product is very good considering the humid weather here in Singapore. The only downside of this is the heavy scented product that might be a little bit overwhelming to me. Other than that, I am happy to say that Meteorites Baby Glow is worth trying especially if you like a lightweight product over your face.

Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow is retailing at SGD 75 in Singapore
