The Villa I was staying:

and it comes with a mini pool too 🙂

Capella also provide a library facilities where guests can borrow DVD, Books, and having tea time. The library decor was simple amazing. It reminds me of a classic library where I could sit all day and gaze through my favorite magazine or historical picture books. The library also provide all day tea & snacks. At certain hours, there will be simple canapes too 🙂

Here are some picture I took with my instagram (@memoiselle). The cakes and scones was simply a delightful treat.

Every seasons’ skin care essential.. The little black tube from Down Under!

PURE Papaya Ointment – the 100% natural, petrochemical-free multi-tasking skin care essential from Australia. In addition to papaya, or pawpaw, active ingredients include soothing calendula, shea butter, jojoba oil, macadamia oil, styrax benzoin resin, silica,

• It is banned in EU cosmetics (unless very specific purification standards are met)

PURE Papaya Ointment is available at Guardian, Watsons, BHG and all good health food stores.

My personal thought and experience:

When I received this product, I immediately feel that the packaging is a bit manly. It’s in a rubberized black tube. The packaging is handy, it’s lightweight and it’s easy to put this on my bag. The texture of this product is something that I like; it’s oily and it’s very moisturizing for the lips. My lips are tend to be dry most of the time and after wearing this for a week, I really see the result. My lips are much more moisturized and I love how this lip product moisturize my lip; it doesn’t peel my lip and it has a decent amount of shine. Other than my lip, I also use this to moisturize my dry cuticle. I haven’t see much improvement this product does to my cuticle but I hope I will see more in the next few days. The smell of this product is just fine. It’s not strong yet still has a slight papaya scent. I don’t ming paying $14.90 for this 25gr of product. The quality and the quantity of this product worth the price 🙂

Nail Care: My Cuticle Balm Collection

Hello again!

I am thinking to write something about my collection of nail care, body lotions and stuffs. I usually write about my thoughts on a new eyeshadow, blush or lipstick. I decide to start writing on my body wash, shampoo, skin care and nail care product. So here’s my first post on nail care; My cuticle balm collection 🙂

In the past, I was a horrible nail biter. I could never grow my nail because when I see them start growing, I’d be tempted to bite them. Or when I am nervous and scared, I would start biting them too. I felt so bad about myself. My nails looked horrible and seriously I don’t like to stare at them too. I have tried to stop by applying nail polish but when I removed the nail polish, the habit came back again.

Finally I had a turning point. It was about 2 years ago. I was preparing for my wedding and I realized that I NEED to change my bad habit. I NEED to stop biting my nails. I bought 2 bottles of OPI Nail Polish to paint. I remind myself that I have bought two bottles of expensive nail polish and I should not waste my money. I still remember the 2 bottles were Vodka & Caviar (One of my favorite red until now) and Hawaiian Orchid which is a very pretty pink with slight shimmer. I kept on painting my nails and have never let my nails naked. From then, I have stopped my bad habits and YAY I am happy to look at my nails 🙂 That’s a short story about my nail, so let’s start looking at my cuticle balm collection 🙂

Badger Cuticle Care

I bought this in Isetan Scotts Pharmacy store. This costs me $5.50. The first thing that caught my attention was the cute badger and the logo.

The texture of this cuticle balm is quite watery. Although it’s watery, it’s very moisturizing.  This cuticle balm has a nice citrus scent. The scent smells nice, it’s like smelling a lemon sorbet and it’s very refreshing.

One thing I dislike about badger cuticle care is that it’s too watery. I avoid bringing this item to office as it will surely dirt my keyboard. I usually use this before I sleep. For a $5.50 product, I guess this is a very good buy.

Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream

The pot of Burt’s bees cuticle cream is similar to Badger’s. However it’s much tighter which is really good to be brought anywhere. The logo looks a bit boring to me. It looks like a product from the 70s :p.

The texture of this balm is rather dry compared to Badger’s. When applied, it stays for a long time. The citrus scent in this item is not as strong as in Badger’s. For people who like citrus scent but wants it to be light, I think this might be a good choice.

The only downside I see from this cuticle balm is that it’s rather too dry. Badger’s cuticle balm is too watery but this one is just too dry for me. I bought this at Sephora at $13 (can’t remember the exact price)

 Lush Lemony Flutter

This is a new addition to my cuticle balm collection. The size of Lush’s cuticle balm is much bigger compared to Burt’s Bees and Badger.

The texture of this balm is just right; not too watery like Badger’s and not too dry like Burt’s Bees. In terms of texture, I like Lush’s best. This cuticle balm also has a very nice citrus scent. It feels very refreshing. The scent of Lush’s is closer to Badger’s which I like.

I can’t remember the price of this product. Although the texture and the scent are just right, I rarely bring this on my bag. I always keep this at home because it’s rather heavy to be brought everywhere.

Crabtree & Evelyn Gardeners Nail & Cuticle Theraphy

Gardeners range from Crabtree and Evelyn is my favorite. The smell is unique. It smells like herbs; just nice when I am not in mood for a citrus scent. The packaging of this cuticle cream is different with the other 3 that I mentioned above. It’s in a tube and it comes in a handy size. Because of the nice packaging and handy size, this one has a permanent place in my everyday bag.

The texture of this cuticle cream is different from Badgers, Burt’s Bees and Lush. It’s in a cream texture, similar to hand cream texture. I like this texture a lot. It’s not sticky to be used even on office hours. Although this is not as  moisturizing as other cuticle balm I have, I find this to be very nice. I love the smell and it does not dirt my keyboard because it’s less oily.

The only downside of this is the price. I believe the price of this is around S$15 and this only contains 15g worth of product.

 Final Thought:

Cuticle cream is a must have item on my bag. Among these 4, I would choose Crabtree & Evelyn’s as my favorite. It smells very nice and it comes in a very handy size. Although I m not sure whether I would repurchase this because of the price, I would still say that this product is really worth trying if you don’t mind the price tag.

Lush’s cuticle cream is worth trying too. The texture is nice and the scent it’s very refreshing. However if you’d bring the cuticle care in your everyday bag, I would suggest Badger’s.

I hope you enjoy this post. Have a great weekend 🙂

28 days of Shu Uemura Tsuya Skin Experience

Hello all! It’s been more than 28 days that I have used Tsuya Skin from Shu Uemura. I have posted my 7 days experience with Tsuya Skin hereI have shared my thoughts about Tsuya Skin there 🙂

In case some of you still wondering what it Tsuya Skin, it’s a new skincare from Shu Uemura that’s launching in September island wide in Singapore 🙂 It’s a serum that shall be used after you cleanse your face. After applying Tsuya Skin, let it absorb for a while and you may go on with your skincare regime.

I am giving a quick update on what I feel after 28 days of using Tsuya Skin 🙂

After 14 days of using Tsuya Skin, I admit that my skin looks more radiant, reduced the size of my pores and my skin feels softer. But after 28 days, honestly it didn’t give much difference anymore. The radiance is still there and it looks the same. However I noticed that it become a little bit softer than before. There’s no much difference but I think Tsuya Skin has done the job.

In conclusion, I think Tsuya Skin is a worth trying product. The texture is soft and it smells very nice. It doesn’t smell to strong but it leave a fresh feeling :). I do see some difference in my skin especially on the radiance and on the reduction of the pores.

Are you going to try this product?

Thank you for reading 🙂

My 7 Day Experience with Shu Uemura Tsuya Skin

Two weeks ago I was invited to the launch of Shu Uemura Tsuya Skin and I was offered to try this Tsuya Skin in 7 days and see the difference on my skin.

Tsuya skin is a face serum that’s recommended to be used after you cleanse your face. If you’re using eye cream, moisturizer or night cream, it is recommended that you use Tsuya Skin before using all other skin care products.

In the picture below, you can see the pretty color of this product. It is a translucent pink with pretty shimmer. You don;t have to use too much of it, a pearl sized will be enough 🙂

What I love about Tsuya Skin at the first try:

The smell: Tsuya Skin smells fresh! I like skincare which does not have heavy smell, a fresh scent in a skincare helps me to feel relaxed and freshen my mind. Tsuya skin’s smell is not too much yet it gives the fresh feeling whenever I smell it.

The texture: The texture is not  sticky yet moisturizing.

The packaging: The packaging is designed simple and handy. The size of the bottle is not too big and not too heavy for me to bring anywhere. The pump also helps me to measure the size of the pearl I am going to use.

Now I am going to share with you my skin care regime every night and what I have achieved with 7 days of using Tsuya Skin:

Firstly I cleanse my face with Shu Uemura Ultime8 Sublime Cleansing Oil. After that I applied Shu Uemura Tsuya Skin all over my face (pearl sized as shown in the picture above). I wait for about 1 minute until my skin absorb Tsuya skin, then I apply my Chanel Ultra Correction Lift Eye Cream for my under eye circle. The next would be The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisturizing Cream all over my face. That’s all for my night routine. But in the morning, I would top it with sunscreen, Avene High Protection (50 SPF) and continue with my powder and makeup

Personally I don’t have major skin problem. Thankfully my skin is not sensitive  and quite easy to take care. My skin is normal but tend to get very oily on the T-zone. I have pores on my nose which sometimes a bit annoying to see for me. I try using Tsuya skin in the past 14 days and I can see some changes in my skin.

Honestly after 7 days of trial, I can’t really see much changes on my skin. I still feel that my skin feels the same. I was a bit discouraged to see the result after 7 days. But I decided to keep on using it again. Miraculously after 10 days, I start to feel the difference. My skin feels subtler and softer. I feel so happy that I can see some difference Tsuya skin can bring to me. But it does not stop there, after 14 days of using Tsuya Skin, I also feel that my skin looks more radiant. I can see some glow every morning after I wash my face.

The picture below is taken 1 hour after I washed my face in the morning. There’s no Tsuya Skin, moisturizer or any skin care applied on my skin. I know my skin is not perfect but I can see some radiant 🙂

Final Thought:

I don’t see difference after using Tsuya skin for 7 days but I guess this product works differently on every one. I see the result of using Tsuya skin after 14 days of application. My skin looks more radiant, more subtle and softer. Moreover, the smell of this product is lovely! I love the scent which makes me feel fresh. This product is suitable for every woman aged 20 to 40+.
