OPI Skyfall Collection – My Picks & Swatches

Most brands have released their Christmas/Holiday Collections. This year OPI is releasing a James Bond themed collection. OPI Skyfall consist of 12 shades of cremes, shimmers and glitters. I am not a big fan of James Bond so this collection does not really excites me. However there are few shades that caught my attention. Initially I didn’t plan to get it but after looking at the those polish in person, I couldn’t resist to get these shades.

I picked three colors from Skyfall Collection – The Spy Who Loved Me, Golden Eye, The World is Not Enough.

The World is Not Enough

It’s a dark shimmery taupe. The color somehow looks charcoal in some lighting. The formula was nice but it’s quite sheer. I applied 3 coats for this swatch.

I did a comparison swatch between The World is Not Enough, Number One Nemesis and My Private Jet. I thought it was going to be very similar but I was wrong. My Private Jet has the best formula among the rest. It’s the most pigmented.

Golden Eye

I am in LOVE with this shade. This shimmery golden polish is just wow! I didn’t expect that I would love this one as much as I do now. It’s very festive looking and I think the color is unique compared to many golds that have been released before. The color dazzles beautifully. The formula of this polish is very nice, it’s better than The World is Not Enough. It applies smoothly and opaque in two coats.

The Spy Who Loved Me

I know I have to get this one when I saw the swatch for the first time. Red is my all time nail polish color. The Spy Who Loved Me is a creme red polish with micro gold glitters. It’s so difficult to capture the micro gold glitters on my nails but in real life you can see them clearly. The formula of this is just flawless. It’s very easy to apply. It’s opaque in one coat but I applied two coats to have the perfect nail look.

Final Thought:

These three colors are very nice color with good formula. If I would have to choose one favorite color from this collection, it has to be The Spy Who Loved Me.

My first Illamasqua Purchase + Blush in Hussy Review and Swatches

Recently Illamasqua is having free shipping promotion. I have never had any Illamasqua products before and so excited to grab few products that I might like. Many people gave positive review about Illamasqua products especially the blushes. The order came after approximately 2 weeks in a black box and wrapped nicely.

I bought a blush in Hussy, and a pair of nail polish in Viridian and Glitterati. Illamasqua packed a sample perfume bottle in Freak.

Illamasqua described Hussy as a bright candy matte blush. Personally I see this as a bright pink with a hint of coral in it. The texture of this blush is very nice. The pigmentation is fine, it’s not too heavy. It’s nice to swipe my Tom Ford Cheek Brush without worrying that it’s going to have too much blush in it. This blush blends very well too. In terms of longevity, this blush works fine. It lasts for about 4-5 hours with me.

The packaging is made with a black plastic case. There’s nothing much special about the packaging. I did not go crazy about the packaging but it looks pretty fine.

I did a comparison of Hussy and Bobbi Brown in Peony. Hussy leans more towards peachy and Peony is a very bright pink.

This is how it looks on me.

Final Thought:

For a first purchase, I would say I am impressed with the texture. I like the Hussy as it brighten up my overall look. For a £16 product, I think this product is worth trying.

Guerlain Summer 2012 by Emillio Pucci – Terra Azzura and Le Vernis in 01 Paradisio Swatch & Review

I know summer has been over and we are already seeing lots of Christmas collection product. However I bought these products during Luxasia Beauty Bazaar last week. I am so glad that I found these during the sale. These products were on my lemming list but because of the hefty price tag I did not get it.  I am glad I paid SGD 50 for the Terra Azzura and SGD 12 for Paradisio.

Such a pretty sight to see! The packaging is so luxe. I love the wooden case with “Guerlain by Emillio Pucci” engraved in it. It’s a hefty casing which showcase the elegance of this product. There’s an Emillio Pucci pouch provided too. I love Emillio Pucci’s printed design. They are gorgeous! 🙂

However there’s one thing which I dislike from the packaging. The packaging is only aligned with three mini magnetic button. I think this is a little bit unsecured and prone to scratches. I would much prefer the casing are connected with the usual button.

The bronzer is quite sheer. In my opinion, this would look great for fair skin tone. On deeper skintone, this might not show up very well. The texture is nicely done. It blends easily and it creates a natural looking sculpted face.

I did a simple contouring with this bronzer. I am a beginner in contouring, so pardon me if it doesn’t look right LOL. I am also using the blush on top of the bronzer.

Paradisio is a coral red creme nail polish. The color is not unique at all, it’s certainly easy to find the dupe for the color. The formula of this polish is okay. It’s not extraordinary as it leans towards thick formula. It looks uneven on the first coat but it looks opaque on the 2nd coat. I apologize that the swatch does not look good, I took the picture after 3 days of wearing this polish. Hence it has shrunk a bit.

I also has swatched Guerlain Summer 2012 Nail polish in 02 Riviera. You can see the swatch here .

Final Thought:

Terra Azzura has a very nice texture. It blends wonderfully and I foresee that I will be using this as a bronzer a lot. Paradisio is not disappointing but not excites me as well. It’s a nice nail polish but it doesn’t have any “oomph” factor.

YSL Le Vernis in 6 Rouge Dada Swatch

Hello 🙂

As promised in my haul post (you can take a look at it here) I will post the review of each YSL products mentioned in the haul post.

Rouge Dada is a deep red creme polish. It looks vampy on indoor lighting but when it’s exposed to direct sunlight, this nail varnish looks a bit berry red. The formula of this polish is great; it’s very easy to work with. This nail polish is opaque in two coats. The brush of YSL nail polish is wide; it’s really easy to control the application. The brush is much wider than Chanel’s and it’s quite thin. The Make Up Blogette has written an in depth review of YSL nail polish, you can read it here.

Have you tried any YSL Nail polish? What do you think of them :)?

Thank you for reading
