OPI Dim Sum Plum

This is what I have on my nails over the weekend, something bright something purple perfect for gloomy Sydney’s weather.

Dim Sum Plum is a purple berry color. It’s from Hong Kong collection. As usual, two coats of OPI Dim Sum Plum and Poshe top coat and here it is.

As a purple lover, I love this color so much!

OPI Holland Collection – Pedal Faster Suzi

One more polish from OPI Holland Collection. Here’s Pedal Faster Suzi! The naming seems a bit awkward for me. I couldn’t imagine a pink polish called “Pedal Faster Suzi“. Despite of its awkward name, this is one of my favorite color from OPI Holland Collection. My other favorite from this collection is OPI Gouda Gouda Two Shoes (here).

This is a sheer pink polish packed with gold glitter. The formula was not that awesome but it’s still very manageable. This is two coats.

Dior Aloha & Essie Braziliant Swatch and Comparison

I have been so obsessed with orange nail polish lately. It was so hard for me to find the right orange color that suits my wants. I was looking for an opaque and bright orange nail polish. I have been browsing for orange nail polish for quite sometimes and doesn’t really seem to get the right one. Finally I grabbed Essie Braziliant and Dior Aloha, both from their summer collection.

Let’s talk about Dior Aloha first. Dior Aloha is a sheer orange nail polish. I applied two coats of the polish and I still couldn’t get an opaque look on my nail. The application was smooth and does not feels goopy at all. Dior Aloha’s application is much better than my other Dior nail polish. Usually Dior polishes is difficult to apply because they are very sticky. I don’t know what you guys feel about it but that’s just my experience. After I see the final look on my nail, I don’t feel that this is the right orange polish for me. It’s too sheer.

Essie Brazilliant is a orange creme nail polish that contains shimmer inside. The color looks quite similar to Dior Aloha but this is the creme version with shimmer. The formula wasn’t great, it’s a bit runny but still manageable. Is this the orange polish that I want? Again, it’s a no. I was not looking for a shimmery orange nail polish.

This picture was taken in a direct sunlight. Dior Aloha was on my index finger and ring finger. Essie Brazilliant was on my middle finger. The color looks very similar on direct sunlight.

This picture was taken in indoor lightning. Again, Dior Aloha was on my index finger and ring finger. Essie Brazilliant was on my middle finger. In indoor lightning, you will notice the shimmer in Essie Brazilliant.

Finally I decided to layer both nail polish together. Here’s how it looks!

Finally I got the orange look that I want!! 🙂 🙂 It looks shiny and opaque. I used two coats of Essie Brazilliant and a coat of Dior Aloha to get this finish. I realize that sometimes it’s very hard to get the “right” color from one nail polish, we might need to layer two kinds of polish to get the “right” one for us. I am so glad that finally I got the look that I want. 🙂

Have you had this experience before? Share it 🙂

OPI Gouda Gouda Two Shoes & Nicole Step 2 The Beat of My Heart

Hello again everyone!

I was thinking to do Panda nail art last weekend but I haven’t got proper dotting tool and it failed, so backup plan it is! I picked my latest OPI from Holland collection which I haven’t used it. I applied two coats of Gouda Gouda and to make a bit different I applied one coat of heart-shaped glitter from Nicole. Even though the heart-shaped glitters chip easily but the polish added a nice touch with its micro glitters.

Thanks for reading! See my other post for OPI Holland collection here and my nail art using Nicole heart-shaped glitter polish here.

OPI Holland – I Don’t Give A Rotterdam!

I have promised myself for not blogging until I finish my exam. But I just have to show you all my nails of the day from OPI Holland collection.

I bought 2 Nail Lacquer from OPI Holland collection; I passed the creme nail lacquer since nothing attracts me. That’s a relieved! But I love most of the shimmery polish. I only grabbed two which is I don’t give a Rotterdam and Gouda Gouda Two Shoes.

I don’t give a Rotterdam is a blue shade but in some certain light can be violet with a gold shimmer. Okay that’s a bad description ;p anyway here are the pictures, I applied two coats and top coat.

I’ve got mine in David Jones and they have a promotion if you buy more than $39.80 on OPI products, you get free Avoplex Cuticle oil to go.  Might get few more from Holland collection, any suggestion?
