YSL La Laque Couture Spicy Collection Swatches

YSL is adding new collection of their Nail Polish range. La Laque Couture Spicy Collection consist of 1 gold flaky glitters and 6 cream shades. The shades released in this collection varies; some shades are very unique, it is something that I have not worn before whereas some other shade are quite similar to some of my nail polishes in my collection.

42 Safran Sultan

With La Laque Couture no 42 Saffran Sultan, YSL creates an atypical, intensely warm shade that is both surprising and chic. Essential for an inimitable, shade for an avant-garde YSL look.

According to the press release, YSL describe this shade as a royal yellow. It looks like a yellow mustard cream shade too. This is a very unique shade and I have nothing like this in my stash.

43 – Opulente Cannelle.

YSL describe this as a rich coral shade. I find that this shade is a mixture of a deep rose shade combined with brown. This shade reminds me of Moroccan houses with the exotic feeling. This is my go to color whenever I don’t feel like having a red nails but at the same time I don’t wish to have a nude nails too.

44 Ambre Gingemembre

YSL describes this shade as oriental orange. Somehow this shade reminds me of pumpkin too.

46 – Poivre Noir

This color is describes as piquant plum. This shade is gorgeous and I love it so much. It is a deep plum shade which is suitable for all occasions.

46 – Piment d’Ailleurs

YSL describes this shade as torrid red. In the swatch below, I applied Feuille d’Or on my index finger.

47 Feuille d’Or

By just looking at the bottle, I am hooked onto this glitter shade. The glitter is gorgeous and it is looking festive. The texture of this nail polish is nice and it is easy to apply. Unlike some other glitter polishes, this glitter shade is not sticky and the gold sprinkles adds a touch of festive feeling to my nail.

Some tips from YSL on applying Feuille d’Or:

  • Applied over the opulent shades of La Laque Couture Spicy Collection. APply a fine coat over the entire nail, or just the half moons or the tips.
  • If you wish, apply a second coat to intensify the gilded look.
  • Feuille d’Or top coat can also be applied alone on bare nails for a 24 karat effect.

My Final Thought on the nail polishes in La Laque Couture Spicy Collection:

YSL never fail to impress me on their nail polish quality. The nail polishes are easy to apply; the brush are wide so it helps nail polish to be applied evenly and more easily. The shades are opaque in two coats and it does not feel thick when applied. Most YSL nail polishes last on my finger perfectly for about 3 days – I type everyday with my nails touching the keyboard and I do houseworks too. I am glad that YSL is always consistent with the formula of their nail polish. I can say that YSL is my favorite designer nail polish brand.

Chanel Spring 2013: Illusion d’Ombres in Diapasson & Le Vernis in Tapage Swatches

IMG_9196

After reading so many positive review on Diapasson, I finally decided to purchase this item. Diapasson is added to the permanent collection and it is a deep purple with very fine shimmer. I am a big fan of Chanel Illusion d’Ombre; I love the bouncy and smooth texture. The eyeshadow is so easy to apply and to blend and the pigmentation is superb!

IMG_9197

IMG_9199

Diapasson is a deep purple with duochrome effect. In certain light, I see it as a deep purple and sometime I see a hint of brown in it. In this picture, I couldn’t really capture the shimmer but you may see the fine shimmers in the next picture below. I applied two layers on the swatch below. The swatches below is taken outdoor with indirect sunlight.

IMG_9201

IMG_9200

I did a comparison of Diapasson and some other two Illusion d’Ombres that I think might look similar. They are Illusoire and Ebloui. The swatches below is taken under indoor lighting. The shimmers are captured better here.

Initially I thought Illusoire would look quite similar to Diapasson but it turned out that Illusoire looks much deeper and it has a deep grey tone in it too. Ebloui carries a plummy tone but it also leans more to brown shade.

IMG_9206

I also purchased the nail polish shade from this collection. Le Vernis Tapage looks like a very deep pink that leans towards red. I love Chanel red nail polish so I thought of adding this to my red nail polish collection. In the swatch below, I applied two coats of Tapage and I used Chanel Extreme Shine top coat.

Here’s a quick swatch of Tapage:

And there it goes my pick for Chanel Spring 2013! I have posted a short review of Chanel Quad in Quadrille and the Cream Blush in Intonation few days ago, you may read the post here.

So what is your pick from this collection?

Uk Trip Haul :D

Hello guys!

I have been shopping a lot during the holiday! UK has plenty of makeup brands that I could not find in Singapore and I took the chance of getting those things! I know I’ve been a bad girl during the holiday. When I reached home after the holiday, I felt guilty looking at my new stuffs :( But anyway I enjoyed my holiday so much and now I should work hard to pay off those shopping damages LOL :D

Suqqu

This is Suqqu counter in Selfridges Manchester. I didn’t take more pictures as I was too excited to look for products here. I had fun swatching many products. There are many items that are not available there because I think it sold out pretty quickly.

Here are my Suqqu haul; 2 eyeshadow, 1 blush and 1 eyebrow palette.

Illamasqua

These pictures are also taken in Illamasqua counter in Selfridges Manchester.  The Illamasqua counter there is very happening with 3 SAs that have dramatic makeup and dresses! The thing that gets me most excited is to see their blushes. I have Illamasqua blush in Hussy and I love it to bits. I had fun swatching at the blush counter and decided to pick

I purchased three items from Illamasqua; a blush, an eye palette and a cream highlighter.

Chantecaille

I picked this Chantecaille Classic Palette in Harrods. This palette was on sale together with the Tiger in the Wild palette. Chantecaille products pricing are so expensive even after the price reduction. I paid (£50 or £75, can’t remember exactly). Honestly I bought this only because I want to collect a product from a brand that I have never had before. I will do a review about this palette soon (I hope :) )

Drugstore Haul from Boots & Superdrug

I had fun in both Superdrugs and Boots mostly in between Christmas – New year because they are having generous promotions. I bought quite a number of products there as they are having a “Buy 2 get 3″ promotions and I will get a free goodie bag when I buy 5 products or more. Gosh I could not control myself and bought there things with me. I know I am a bad girl when it comes to shopping but I’ll give myself an excuse since this is a year end holiday :p

Real Technique Brushes

Sleek Eye and Blush Palettes

Miscellaneous brands – Maybelline Color Tattoo, Revlon Lipstain, Max Factor lipfinity, Loreal Eyeshadow, Rimmel Eyeliner, etc.

Model’s Own and Barry M are one of those brands that excites me the most in Boots and Superdrug. Their glittery nail polishes are to die for! Barry M nail polishes were about £3-£5 each and Model’s Own were about £5 each.

That’s all I have for you :)

I have many things to be reviewed and please be patient with me LOL.

Thank you for reading.

Chanel Le Vernis in Malice Swatch

Hello all!

I finally decided to buy Chanel Malice when I saw this in Changi DFS few weeks ago. The price is $27-29 in Changi Airport DFS while it’s retailing at $37 in department store. I know the swatches of Malice is already revolving around the beauty blogosphere for a while. You might have seen the swatches in many beauty blogs but please don’t get bored because I am going to show you mine ;)

Malice’s formula is awesome. It’s very easy to apply. It’s not runny and not thick at all. It’s a pleasure of all Chanel polishes has the same great quality as this. Malice is a deep red. It can be looked very dark in indoor lighting; it looks almost black for me. In direct sunlight, you can see how beautiful the color is. Some dazzling deep red can be seen in between the dark color.

Final Thought:

This is an all year round color for me! The formula was flawless, it applies beautifully. What more can I say? I love Malice :)
