Chanel has a broad range of holiday collection. We have reviewed the Highlighting Powder – Lumiere Sculptee last week. The highlighting powder is printed with a very beautiful pattern that’s inspired from Mademoiselle Chanel’s jewel baroque belt. For more information you can click here .
If you have been reading memoiselle regularly, you’ll know that both of us love natural lip color so much. We have posted many natural lip colors lately. Now we are going to review Chanel’s lip color collection for Christmas 2011. We purchased Rouge Allure Enivree 197 and Levres Scintillates Sweet Beige 297. Both lip colors suits my personality very well. The color makes me feel naturally pretty because the color doesn’t change your overall look at all.
Rouge Allure Enivree (197) is described as an elegant pink warmed with gold. The lipstick looks a bit red in the tube, but it looks more to pinkish when I swatch it on my hand. There’s a slight shimmer in the lipstick which makes me fall in love with the color. In this collection, Chanel also released a red lipstick for rouge allure range. It’s called famous but I didn’t buy it since I’m not a big fan of a red hot lipstick.
The other lip color I bought from this collection is Levres Scintillantes 297 Sweet Beige. It is described as an elegant nude with a sparkling effect. I personally doesn’t really recommend this color for those of you who loves daring color. It’s just too natural. However as a nude color lover, I certainly fell in love with this lip gloss.
Above is the swatch of Rouge Allure Enivree 97 on the left and Levres Scintillantes Sweet Beige 297 on the right.
Other than those products that I have reviewed above, I also recommend Chanel’s beauty collector to get the nail polish in Rouge Carat. The shimmering red is just perfect for a christmas shade. Until now I still don’t know whether I should get this color since Chanel’s nail polish is expensive compared to many other brands and I might look for other similar color. You might see the swatch and review here .
I’m starting to feel the Christmas feeling with me especially next week is already November and I can’t wait to see the streets to be decorated with Christmas lighting 🙂 We’ll keep you guys posted if we bought any products for Christmas collection.
Hello all make up lovers!
Chanel has just released their new range of lipstick – Rouge Allure Velvet. Rouge Allure Velvet is described as luminous matte lip color. The color is very intense but not shiny at all. This is a great pick for whoever wants to enhance their lip color but don’t want to look too obvious. Currently they have 8 colors of this rouge allure velvet range.
Rouge allure velvet no 33 – La Distingue is a natural lip color. The color doesn’t give a shiny effect at all. Just a perfect shade for my working days 🙂
Here I’m comparing the rouge allure 23 with the rouge allure velvet 33. Both colors look very similar on my lips. These two colors from Chanel are my favorite nude lip color. Unfortunately, Rouge Allure 23 has just been discontinued.
I just love to collect Chanel lip color. It’s so elegantly designed and wearing their lip color makes me feel like a true lady 🙂
Yay! After a week full of work, now I have the time to write again 🙂
Burberry has just opened their counter in Tangs Orchard! I visited the counter yesterday and saw their make up range. The range of their make up is not a lot, what I saw there were foundation powder, liquid foundation, single eyeshadows, mascara, lip cover, lip mist and blushes. Despite the narrow range of choices, the packaging is good enough to tempt me to shop there.
If you have been reading my blog, I have posted a review on Burberry Lip Mist (you may read it here). Some of you may ask the difference between lip cover and lip mist. A lip cover is a lipstick, while a lip mist is a sheer color lipstick that’s more creamy thus it gives better protection to the lip. However, I found that Burberry’s lip cover is more creamy than most other brands.
Burberry Delicate Rose is a pinkish nude lip color. This color is very suitable for my everyday use. I always have this one in my make up pouch along with my Burberry Feather Pink. It’s a great color for me to wear in my workplace; it gives color to my lip and at the same time the color is not too flashy to wear to work.
Again, the lip cover comes with the elegant Burberry checkered pattern.
Here’s the swatch of Burberry Delicate Rose No 22:
Have you guys tried other color of Burberry’s Collection? Tell us in the comment box below 🙂
After posting about my Burberry Blush in Cameo (you may read it here) , now I’ll write my thoughts about Burberry lip mist in Feather Pink.
Burberry lip mist is a kind of lipstick but it’s more moisturizing. The texture is more creamy than the ordinary lipstick. Also, the color is more sheer compared to lipstick. For that reason, most of the time I’ll wear lip mist more often than wearing a lipstick. This lip mist moisturizes my lip very well therefore I never forget to bring this everyday in my cosmetic pouch.
Other than a lipstick, a lip mist is something that I should bring everyday in my cosmetic pouch. I always apply them in the morning when I do my make up to brighten my overall look. Having a fresh lip color is very important to enhance your look. Even when I’m feeling lazy to apply make up, I always make sure that I have a moisturized lip that won’t ruin my look 🙂
Here are few pictures of it:
What I love about this lip mist is that the lip mist is stamped with a burberry checkered pattern. The pattern looks very beautiful and alluring. The lipstick comes in a gunmetal tube with a magnet, so you won’t need to be worry that your lipstick might be accidentally opened in your bag.
In the picture below, I swatched Burberry Feather Pink and Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Evasion. Both of them are shiny lipsticks. But as you can see, Burberry feather pink is more pinkish than Chanel Evasion. Chanel Evasion looks more natural.
Have any of you tried Burberry’s lip mist? Which one is your favorite? Tell us in the comment below 🙂
This is a very appealing YSL Travel Make Up Palette. I was lured by the cute packaging. The shocking pink color adds the beauty of YSL’s palette. The shape of the palette resembles an i-phone pouch with a YSL logo.
The palette has 4 eyeshadow colors, 2 lip colors, 1 blush. There is 1 eyeshadow sponge, 1 cheek brush and a lip brush given in the palette. IMO, the brushes given are too small to use.
Here’s the eyeshadow swatch:
I personally love the color as it’s shimmery and in purplish pink color. My favorite eye color from this palette is the second and the third color. It’s an angelic color which is suitable for everyday use. However, there’s something I don’t like about YSL’s eyeshadow color. They are not well pigmented, thus sometimes it’s quite difficult for me to apply it all over my eyelid.
The two lip colors are very pink. I’d love to wear these lip color whenever I’m on a weekend date with a simple eye make up. The bright pink would complete the overall look.
Here’s the blush color given. The blush is the item that I least like. The blush is too pale for my skintone and I’d rather use this as a highlighter.
My overall comment for this palette is:
The eyeshadow color are a great pick! It’s good to bring this travel palette everywhere. The blush is a miss for me because I don’t think I’ll use that for my blush. The lip colors are a sexy color to wear in the evening time. The packaging is the best thing of this palette. It makes me feel happy every time I stare at it 🙂
