YSL Touche Éclat Corrector #1in Rose Lumiere

Hello! Finally I am able to write my review on YSL Touche Éclat! This product was bought together last few weeks together with YSL Le Vernis in #6 Rouge Dada and YSL Rouge Volupte in #1 Nude Beige. You can take a look at my haul here.

I’m sure most of you are familiar with YSL Touche Éclat. Many people has been talking about this product. Most people that I know are raving about this so when YSL beauty opened their boutique in ION Orchard, I immediately decided to get this one.

I am lucky that I’m still able to get this limited edition Touche Éclat packaging. It looks much better in my opinion. It less prone to finger prints compared to the usual Touche Éclat packaging. The idea of pressing pen (I dunno whether this phrase is correct :p LOL) in the packaging is clever. I just love the moment when I press the button and apply the concealer to my under eye circle.

What I like about this corrector is the texture. It’s so soft that it blends very well with my sun screen. I blend this using my Sephora concealer brush.

I bought this primarily to use it as a highlighter. Initially I hoped it could also be used as a concealer. I picked number 1 because the SA advised me to get the lightest color (I am a MAC NC15-20) if I want to use this as a highlighter. After few times using Touche Éclat, I found out that this is not suitable to be used as a concealer. It’s way to light and the texture is not covering enough. Thankfully touche éclat works well as a highlighter. Surely after applying this and my loose powder, I can see some radiant on the part of my face which I applied this on. Other than using this as a highlighter, I also use this as my corrector. Sometimes when my eyeliner starts to smudge, I would add this to touch up. I must admit that I think YSL Touche Éclat works best as a corrector for me.

As you can see in the picture below, the color looks lighter than my skintone. Thus I think it works much better as a highlighter  or a corrector rather than a concealer.

Final Thought:

Packaging wise, I think  YSL Touche Éclat (limited edition) looks very nice and classy. Although I am a bit disappointed that this doesn’t work well as a concealer, I am still glad that this works very well as a highlighter and corrector.

Have you tried YSL Touche Éclat before? Do you think touche éclat works better as a highlighter or a concealer? Tell me what you think 🙂

Thank you for reading 🙂

YSL Haul :D

Hello all,

I’ve been quite busy with my job and personal life lately. I bought these items 3 weeks ago when YSL just opened their flagship store in Singapore. I will do a separate post for my review of these items. Here’s what I bought :

I’ll see you again in the next post in a few days time 😀

Anna Sui Rose Cheek Color in 100 Swatches and Review

Anna Sui Rose Cheek Color is part of Anna Sui Spring 2012 Collection. This was sold out few months ago when I intend to get this but thankfully I am able to get this at a cheaper price in Tao Yuan Airport in Taipei during my trip. This is part of my Taiwan Haul 🙂

I picked this color because this looks very unusual. I have been wanting to pick other pink or corals but then I thought “why don’t I get something unusual?” I have to make a confession here. I did not swatch this on my arm at all when I picked this. It was a final call in the airport and I need to be as quick as possible otherwise I would have missed my flight :p During the flight back to Singapore I opened this box and keep looking at this. I was worried that I have made a wrong decision buying this color. As soon as I am back home n Singapore, I quickly swatch this and thankfully I like my purchase 🙂

I am sure it’s very easy to guess the main reason why I bought this. This is too pretty to be missed. Look at those flower print! Sometimes I am thinking that there’s no use buying pretty printed make up as eventually it will fade as I am using it. But then I think again, which product do I use more often, the prettier one or the plain one? My answer is the prettier one. Oh well then I grabbed this 🙂

This shade is a very unusual pick from me. This is good to be used as a highlighter. There are 4 different shades in this pan, however when swatched, the colors look quite similar. There’s only one shade that stands out among the other colors. The pigmentation of this product is fine. It’s not that well pigmented but it does not disappoints. The shimmer packed in the pan is good for a highlighter; it’s in a good amount, not too much and not too little.

Okay so here’s the swatch on my arm. The four colors on the left side are each single colors that I picked. The single color on the right side shows how this highlighter looks like when they are blended together.

That’s all for today! I hope you enjoy this post 🙂 Do you have anna sui product? Which one 🙂

Thank you for reading.

Another haul and experience with HopShopGo!

Some of you probably realized how things in Sydney here are mostly overpriced and I’m in a point where I get tired to pay almost double in cosmetics or skin care products. Then I thought I just try HopShopGo service where they gave me US address and I can have my items sent to my US address and they will forward it to me here in Australia. After browse and ask them questions I finally ordered few product, its quite a long process though. So I ordered some from Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue. I would suggest buying from Saks because they allow the billing and shipping address in two different countries while Nordstorm can’t (I could be wrong but I tried and Nordstrom can’t process my order). So for Nordstrom I use ‘Buy For Me’ service which they buy on my behalf but incur 10% service fee while for Saks’ order I used ‘Ship For Me’ service.

They have excellent and easy access website which you can track your item has arrived or not in the US address etc. My Nordstrom package arrived first in US address (you can track it from your account) and guess what, 3 items with weight only 200 0r 300 grams, they charged me 1.5kg (they do charged based on dimension of the box). It shocked me because I ordered much more from Saks and how much they gonna charge me. Luckily, my Saks’ package only weight 1kg, I don’t know why but total shipping cost me around AUD40. I’m happy with it, when I get my package I know why there is a weird shipping cost calculation.

The first picture is from Nordstorm using ‘Buy For Me’ serivce, such a big box for 3 eye shadows with no padded, bubble wrap whatsoever. Fortunately, nothing broke. I assumed that’s not the initial package from Nordstrom, while the Saks package is so lovely, padded nicely and the box totally fit perfectly with the items I bought. Overall, its worth it if you buy few things and I would use ‘Ship For Me’ service but maybe not the ‘Buy For Me’ service.

Enough with the rambling, now here’s the interesting part:

I also bought Burberry Sheer Summer Glow which has been reviewed by Meryl 🙂 That’s all I’ve got from US but I didn’t stop at that I also  got couple things from Singapore, Ebay, etc.

I blame my exam anxiety for all this damage to my wallet :p Proper post with better quality pictures coming up in a week or less I hope, once I get my camera back from my friend who borrow it for Lady Gaga’s concert.

Anyone can recommend other shipping companies other than HopShopGo? Also share your experience with HopShopGo, I would love to know as well.

Have a good weekend everyone and don’t forget to enter Groupon Giveaway!

Burberry Sheer Summer Glow Swatches and Review

Summer make up has hit the stores! There were many bronzers that I have been eyeing for these few weeks, however I am glad that I am able to pass few gorgeous bronzers such as Dior Nude Tan, Chanel Sable Beige and Guerlain Emillio Pucci. I am not a heavy user of bronzer thus there’s no need for me to buy a lot of them. However, I can’t avoid buying Burberry’s Summer Glow. Such a pretty and classy packaging and yes it’s a limited edition! Moreover, the color suits my skintone very well. It’s not too dark and can be worn as a highlighter as well. Buying this is like shooting two birds at a time, you’re getting an item that can be used for two functions. This item is retailing at S$90.

As usual, there’s a unique scent in every Burberry’s make up products. I don’t know how to describe the scents but I like it. As you can see, there are 4 colors here. When I want to sculpt my face, I’ll use the two darker color on the left. The color combination provides a dark color that doesn’t look too obvious on my skin. On the other hand, when I want to highlight my face in a more natural way, I’ll swipe my brush on the two lighter colors. On the picture below, I have swatched each color for your reference

As you can see, the two colors on the right are very sheer. I won’t recommend to swipe your brush on this palette entirely if you want to use this as a bronzer (unless you are very very fair). In my opinion, swiping your brush as the two darker color will provide the best shade for asian fair skin tone.

My final conclusion of this product:

The packaging of this product is a standard metal packaging from Burberry (like Burberry’s blusher). It looks elegant, mature and beautiful . The texture is very smooth and silky. This is very easy to be applied on the cheeks and I am loving the finish. It’s not totally matte; it contains micro silver shimmer that gives you the perfect glow. If you are looking for a true bronzer, I don’t think this is for you. It’s less dark than most bronzer thus this won’t really show. But if you are looking for a more natural bronzer, you’ll definitely need this. I find it hard to find a bronzer that doesn’t look too harsh on me and finally Burberry has this product that I need 🙂 Overall I am very satisfied with this product and loving it.

Have you tried this? What do you think of it? Share with me in the comment box below 🙂
