Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer #5 review

Hello all!

I’m going to do a quick review on the product that I recently acquired. Thanks to Jacqueline from mybeautyhoard for helping me to get this bottle of product. Recently Giorgio Armani releases few shades of Armani Fluid Sheer and #5 is one of them. I have told myself to stop getting more make up items as it has grown out of control, however I really can’t skip on this beautiful baby. It is just a classic beauty.

Here’s some information I’ve extracted from Giorgio Armani Beauty Website

Fluid sheer dresses skin in an illuminating veil of radiance. This unique, translucent formula is available in a range of versatile hues including makeup base shades, correcting shades, and radiance boosting shades. Blend your favorite fluid sheer with foundation to add radiance, polish and sculpting definition to your complexion. Or use it alone as a makeup base. All skin types.

  • perfects, sculpts and illuminates skin
  • complete and versatile shade range
  • doubles as eye shadow base, blush or bronzer
  • sheer, lightweight texture and coverage

application techniques:
Apply with the blender brush to wear alone or mixed with foundation for a boost of radiance and color. Use on top of foundation for added highlighting and contouring.

Once again, Armani Beauty has released a range of product that is lust worthy. I am a big fan of radiant, glowing skin; so this product literally jumps out of me. Giorgio Armani fluid sheer comes in simple glass bottle packaging. The packaging looks like Armani Designer Lift foundation which I have reviewed hereThe only difference is that Fluid Sheer comes in a non matte glass bottle. Most of the time, Armani does not create fancy packaging, their packaging is just simple and elegant. Yes, simple and elegant are the right words.

Fluid Sheer #5 is a shimmery coral blush/highlighter. What I love about this product is that the liquid feels very light. It is non sticky at all and there’s no smell in this product. It blends out very nicely, it doesn’t look chalky or frosty at all. It gives a right amount of glow on my face.

I have done a quick swatch for you all. You can see in my swatch above that when it is pumped, it looks striking coral. However after blended, it looks very natural. The color blends nicely with my skin tone and it gives a very nice glow on me without making it look oily.  This can be mixed with your foundation to create a radiant look all over your face. For me, I usually dab this on my cheek after I apply my foundation and I topped it off with my loose powder. If I would have more sheen, I’ll dab this product lightly on my cheek to accentuate the glow on my face.

The only downside I found from this product is the staying power. I find that this product doesn’t sits on my face for too long. It starts to disappear after 4-5 hours after application. My daily job requires me to be inside office most of the time and this product doesn’t show it’s amazing lasting power. I personally don’t have any issue on this as i will always touch up my make up at the end of the day whenever I have an events or a dinner to attend.

Final Thought:

I am currently in love with my purchase and I highly recommend Armani Fluid Sheer for all of you who wants to have a nice liquid highlighter without being frosty.

Paul & Joe 2013 Spring Creation Cheek Colour in 03 (Gigi)

Here I’d like to show my first ever Paul & Joe blush I have. I would like to dedicate a special shoutout to my dearest friend, Monica for giving me this beautiful blush 🙂 When I opened the package for the first time, I feel super excited as I have always been curious on Paul and Joe blush. She really know what I like in a blush and she chose the right shade for me; a pink shade.

This blush is sold separately with its casing. The casing comes in a white color with a flower pattern as shown in the picture. It’s made of plastic and it feels lightweight. The size of this blush is quite small, you can see it’s size in the picture below.

Texture & Shade:

Gigi is a truly pink shade with shimmers on the left and matte pink on the right side. I love how this blush has two different texture. This gives me choice on whether I wann to use shimmering blush for the day or just a matte blush.

The texture of the shimmer and the matte blush is different. The shimmery blush is soft and buttery while the matte one feels a bit dry. Although the matte pink shade feels a bit dry, it is still blends very nicely. This blush lasts with me for 5-6 hours without any touch up. The matte shade has a similar texture with my Guerlain Duo blush. It’s rather dry but it still works well.

Here’s a quick swatch for you;

As you can see, the shimmery pink has a nice amount of shimmer. You don’t need to be afraid that you’d be a glitter bomb wearing this blush.

I did a simple look with this blush. What I did was applying the matte blush and blend it all over the cheek area I want. And using my brush, I just dab on the shimmery shade lightly on the top of my cheekbone.

Final Thought:

Paul & Joe blush is a nice choice for your two in one blush compact- a matte blush and a highlighter.

a One Stop Face Palette: Urban Naked Flushed

Hello everyone,

I’ll be doing a quick review on Urban Decay Naked Flushed. Recently Urban Decay has launched quite a number of new products from Naked Basic eyeshadow palette, Oz The Great & Powerful – Theodora & Glinda Palette (Monica has done a review of both palette here ) and this Flushed palette.

When I first see this palette revolving in beauty blogosphere, I have been so excited to get my hands on  this palette. I think Urban Decay has once again come out with a smart product. Combining three products into one palette! a blush, highlighter and bronzer are necessity for me. Urban Decay Flushed  retails for S$ 40-50 in Sephora Singapore. Now let me stop rambling and start the review 🙂

The Packaging:

Urban Decay Flushed comes in a simple packaging. It’s handy in size. The casing is made of plastic material and it is in brown color. Just like most Urban Decay’s product, there’s nothing fancy about the packaging of this product. It doesn’t come with any brush or sponge. Flush packaging looks just nice functionally and very simple.

The Texture & Shade:

Let’s start with the texture of the bronzer. The texture of this bronzer is decent. It does not wow me because it’s a bit dry for my liking. The pigmentation is just fine. It not too pigmented so it’s not easy for you to over contour your face with this product. The shade is not my favorite shade of bronzer because it looks a bit orange for my liking. Compared to my favorite bronzers such as Nars Laguna & Burberry Sheer Summer Glow, this bronzer leans more to orange rather than warm brown.

The highlighter has a very nice texture – it is soft, buttery and the pigmentation is very nice. When swatched, it glides on beautifully on my skin. The highlighter shade is something that I like; it’s a soft beige with a slight pink tone. I can see myelf using this highlighter a lot especially on my browbone and upper cheek bone.

Now onto the blush –  I love the shade of the blush, it’s a very nice pink with a slight coral tone. It has a very soft metallic sheen which is not too much. I think this is a friendly shade for ladies who don’t like shimmer. It  makes your cheek looks brighter without adding too much shimmer in it. However I find the texture is a bit hard for my liking. It doesn’t feel as smooth as the highlighter, but still it’s better than the bronzer.

Final Thought:

Urban Decay Flushed is a very nice palette to own. It’s like a one stop face palette with bronzer, highlighter and blush in it. Although I am not that satisfied with the texture of the bronzer, the blush & highlighter are good enough to make me feel happy. For its retail price, getting this one stop face palette is really worth your money 🙂

Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate in Intensity 01

Hello everyone,

I know Valentine season has been over, but I just want to share with you that my husband bought me this Tom Ford make up item for my valentine gift. There’s no chocolate or roses this year, just a make up product that I have lusted for a long time. We had a nice dinner on Valentine’s day and it’s always nice to spend time with my loved ones.

Onto the review, Tom Ford shade and Illuminate only comes in one shade in Asia. I believe there are more shades retailing in the USA but sadly only one shade is available here in Asia. This product retails at $100 and it’s available in Tangs Orchard.

The Packaging:

I won’t be talking much of the packaging in this post. The packaging of Shade and Illuminate is the same as the eyeshadow quad. I have shown you the packaging and has talked about it into details in my post of Tom Ford Quad in Cognag Sable and Monica’s post in Golden Mink.

The Color and Texture:

This is actually my first cream bronzer and highlighter, so I can’t compare it with other brand’s cream bronzer/highlighter. I find blending the bronzer with a brush works much better with me. I tried blending with my finger before but it turned out to be patchy. But then I tried blending the bronzer with my Real Technique Stippling Brush and it works very well.

The bronzer match pretty well with my skin. It does not look yellow and give my face a more sculpted look when photographed. The highlighter does not really shows up when swatched on my arm but on my cheek (in real life) looks quite obvious. I really like the color of the highlighter. It has a very fine shimmer that gives my face a radiant look especially on my cheekbone.

Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate can be used after you applied your liquid foundation (before your setting powder) and also can be used on top of your setting powder. I personally like to use the bronzer underneath my setting powder and use the highlighter after I set my face with setting powder. It really depends on personal preferences.

The Swatch:

The Look:

I created a simple look with Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate. In this look, I swiped two layers of bronzer underneath my setting powder and top it off again with another 1 layer of bronzer on top of the powder.

Final Thought:

Honestly I don’t think I love this product as much as I want to. This product does the job pretty well but maybe I just like powder bronzer better than the cream one. Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate is a nice item to collect but I think you can find other brand that gives you the same result without needing to pay as much as $100. I am not disappointed with this product but I am also not WOWed.

What cream bronzer have you tried? I would like to explore more so please leave a comment below 🙂

Uk Trip Haul :D

Hello guys!

I have been shopping a lot during the holiday! UK has plenty of makeup brands that I could not find in Singapore and I took the chance of getting those things! I know I’ve been a bad girl during the holiday. When I reached home after the holiday, I felt guilty looking at my new stuffs 🙁 But anyway I enjoyed my holiday so much and now I should work hard to pay off those shopping damages LOL 😀

This is Suqqu counter in Selfridges Manchester. I didn’t take more pictures as I was too excited to look for products here. I had fun swatching many products. There are many items that are not available there because I think it sold out pretty quickly.

Here are my Suqqu haul; 2 eyeshadow, 1 blush and 1 eyebrow palette.

These pictures are also taken in Illamasqua counter in Selfridges Manchester.  The Illamasqua counter there is very happening with 3 SAs that have dramatic makeup and dresses! The thing that gets me most excited is to see their blushes. I have Illamasqua blush in Hussy and I love it to bits. I had fun swatching at the blush counter and decided to pick

I purchased three items from Illamasqua; a blush, an eye palette and a cream highlighter.

I picked this Chantecaille Classic Palette in Harrods. This palette was on sale together with the Tiger in the Wild palette. Chantecaille products pricing are so expensive even after the price reduction. I paid (£50 or £75, can’t remember exactly). Honestly I bought this only because I want to collect a product from a brand that I have never had before. I will do a review about this palette soon (I hope 🙂 )

Drugstore Haul from Boots & Superdrug

I had fun in both Superdrugs and Boots mostly in between Christmas – New year because they are having generous promotions. I bought quite a number of products there as they are having a “Buy 2 get 3” promotions and I will get a free goodie bag when I buy 5 products or more. Gosh I could not control myself and bought there things with me. I know I am a bad girl when it comes to shopping but I’ll give myself an excuse since this is a year end holiday :p

Real Technique Brushes

Sleek Eye and Blush Palettes

Miscellaneous brands – Maybelline Color Tattoo, Revlon Lipstain, Max Factor lipfinity, Loreal Eyeshadow, Rimmel Eyeliner, etc.

Model’s Own and Barry M are one of those brands that excites me the most in Boots and Superdrug. Their glittery nail polishes are to die for! Barry M nail polishes were about £3-£5 each and Model’s Own were about £5 each.

That’s all I have for you 🙂

I have many things to be reviewed and please be patient with me LOL.

Thank you for reading.
