Today I have a newly acquired foundation to share with all of you today. It’s Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation. I picked this up about three weeks ago. This would be my first Tom Ford foundation products.
Firstly I must say that the packaging caught my immediate attention. Foundation with pump function is not something unusual, but when the pump comes without a cap, it’s something interesting for me. After having so many foundations and putting them in my drawer, some foundation caps are just not as long lasting as I wish it would be. The design of this Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation comes with a cap that’s twistable and pumped. I feel that this packaging is safer for me who likes to place my foundation bottles in a tight drawer.
There are 15 shades available in total, but as of three weeks ago, we have not received all 15 shades yet. I picked up no 13 in buff, it seems that it suits me the best for my asian skin. I tried on shade #4 bisque too, but I find that it’s too dark for me.
Texture wise, the foundation feels thicker than most foundations I owned. I usually use one and a half pump to use all over my face. It gives me a medium coverage and it’s buildable to full coverage. What I love most about this foundation is that – although it comes in a thicker consistency compared to most of my foundations, it doesn’t feel heavy at all. It also provides a very natural finish without being over dewy nor matte. There are not many foundations that I would be comfortable wearing without setting it off with setting powder, but for this one, I love the look and the finish of Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation on its own. My face looks very natural and looking fresh.
To apply this foundation, I tried using my fingers to blend it all over my face. It’s very easy to blend with my finger; To me, no much blending needed when using this foundation. I just had to make sure that this spreads all over my face evenly and covers my face with enough coverage. I tried blending this foundation with Tom Ford Cream Foundation brush too, but I personally prefer blending it with my own finger.
Here’s some shades comparison to few other foundations
And here’s how my face looks with Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation
Overall I think Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation has performed up to my expectation for being able to create a smooth looking skin on me without making my face looks too glowy.

Beauty brands are always so innovative in releasing new products with new function. This time, Shu Uemura releases a compact foundation that provides medium to high coverage with natural glow.
The powder comes with a special sponge that has a special curve to help application more evenly. The sponge was made from a different material compared to most sponges available in the market. This sponge able to pick up quite a handful of products but afraid not, there won’t be too much products transferred during the application.
I have tried wearing Shu Uemura Oleo Pact for a while. The foundation feels lightweight and yet it provides medium that can be build to high coverage.
There were few methods of application I have tested so far. I have tried applying this with foundation brush (stippling brush) and the result was not satisfying. I can see brush strokes when I use foundation brush to apply. I have also tried using the sponge with tapping motion, and apparently I feel that the finish would be too thick for my liking. Finally I tried using the given sponge in a pulling motion. After getting enough amount of product on the sponge, I’ll apply it on my face with pulling motion. In this way, the coverage and the finish looks beautiful.
In the pictures above, I have shown the difference Oleo Pact can do to your skin. With a gentle swipe, this foundation covers my flaws and makes my skin looks smoother.
Shu Uemura Oleo Pact will be available islandwide in Singapore in September

When I heard that Guerlain is releasing a new BB Cream, I became so excited to know more and to try the product. This BB Hydra Aqua Serum is part of Guerlain’s Super Aqua Serum which emphasizes so much of hydrating the skin.
Guerlain BB Hydra Aqua Serum comes in a squeezable long tube. There’s nothing fanciful about the packaging; it looks simple an practical. There are two shades available – light and medium. Mine is light.
The initial reaction I have when I first try it is the lightness of the bb cream texture. It feels very light in texture and it makes me feel like i am not wearing anything on my face. I have tried and used this BB cream for couple of times and I have found that the coverage of this BB cream is very light. This bb cream is also packed with SPF 25 to protect our skin from the UV rays.
On my swatch here, you can see that the coverage of BB hydra is light but you can still see the difference of my skin with and without the bb cream.
I have tried several ways to apply this bb cream but what I find most useful is to put the bb cream all over my face with my finger lightly and dab it with my finger. In this way, I feel like the bb cream is applied more evenly. The finish of the bb cream is lumimous without being shiny.
Comparing to the Lingerie de Peau BB Cream, Hydra Aqua Serum BB Cream has a much lighter coverage. The size of the tube is similar but lingerie de peau tube comes with a pump. Both products carry a signature Guerlain scent but Hydra Aqua Serum has a lighter scent compared to Lingerie de Peau.
I would recommend this BB cream for any one of you who prefers a light texture bb cream with light coverage for daily use. After using this for many times, I like this best when I am having this on my outdoor activities; when I am exposed to the sun and when light make up is the thing I need. Most of the time, I will still prefer lingerie de peau bb cream for its coverage and finish.
Chanel PERFECTION LUMIÈRE VELVET is a lightweight second-skin foundation. It naturally smoothes and evens out the complexion for a velvety matte makeup result.
The lightweight texture of PERFECTION LUMIÈRE VELVET makes it perfect for normal and combination to oily skin. This ultra-soft emulsion instantly becomes one with the skin, transforming into a natural powdery matte finish that disappears onto the skin.
• The Perfect Skin Affinity complex acts in perfect affinity with the skin to maintain hold and radiance all day long.
• The “smooth-effect” powders selected by the CHANEL Laboratories diminish surface irregularities and instantly smooth pores.
• The patented* Perfect Light Control complex (combination of two semi-sheer hemispherical powders) perfectly evens out dark spots and lightens redness, without a hint of thickness.
Available in 6 shades. I always recommend anyone to try it before purchase and consult with the BA to get the right shade, mine is 20 Beige.
I didn’t have a wide range of foundations, I only bought or tried them after I read good reviews from other beauty bloggers. I read couples of good review about this foundation and decided to visit Chanel counter which I am sure that I will come home with it. In this post I will compare Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet with all my foundations. But overall it has a matte finish and very light texture.
In terms of packaging, I love how light it is and very travel handy. Though I like the convenience from the pump in my other foundations, I think light and compact packaging are far more important than pump.
In terms of texture shown in picture above, its a bit runny and not as thick as Shu Uemura or Chanel PL.
Last but not least. Face with Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet under indoor lighting and outdoor lighting.
Hope the short thought about this foundation helps! I completely love this foundation because its light texture and have enough coverage for day to day activities. Or else layer a bit more if you want more coverage. Another good thing about this foundation is; it does not result in oily face even after all-day activities and I am not a kind of person who do touch up or apply more powder during the day.
But as I always mention give it a try first in person. I always ask the BA to try it on my face before buying foundation. You do not want base product that doesn’t suit you.

I didn’t even remember when was the last time I bought myself a foundation. Once I have one that I like, I will use it for quite some time. Anyway after seeing so many good reviews through Instagram, I finally decided to go to Shu Uemura counter and try it myself.
My latest foundation addition is Shu Uemura the lightbulb fluid foundation (27ml), retail in Australia for 65AUD and the sponge sold separately which I decided not to get it.
when seeking higher coverage, natural glow tends to be lost… but, now, paradoxical benefits coexist thanks to shu uemura’s expertise in oil technology and an original carefully hand-finished sponge. tap the foundation with the sponge and discover
– natural glow yet high coverage
– long-lasting moisture yet exquisite fit
12h moisture, mineral pigments
the unprecedented combination of the lightbulb foundation and the all-new sponge empowers you to glow under any light.
- tested under dermatological control – suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin – non-comedogenic – tested on Asian women
**Information above taken from Shu Uemura Website**
It comes with a pump which I thought very essential in a foundation for easy access. Below are all the liquid foundations that I have, not including compact foundations. Seeing my little collections, I feel like buying more foundations now. Any recommendation?
For texture, I would say its quite thicker compare to GA & Chanel PL but not as thick as Chanel VA. I would also say this one is medium coverage.
Lastly, my face with Shu Uemura lightbulb foundation and powder only. I agree it gives me a natural glow as they claimed it. However, I suggest to visit the counter and asked the MUA to try it on your face. That’s what I did before buying foundations
Overall, one of my favorite foundation at the moment beside Chanel PL.
