Shu Uemura The Lightbulb fluid foundation

I didn’t even remember when was the last time I bought myself a foundation. Once I have one that I like, I will use it for quite some time. Anyway after seeing so many good reviews through Instagram, I finally decided to go to Shu Uemura counter and try it myself.

My latest foundation addition is Shu Uemura the lightbulb fluid foundation (27ml), retail in Australia for 65AUD and the sponge sold separately which I decided not to get it.

Shu1

when seeking higher coverage, natural glow tends to be lost… but, now, paradoxical benefits coexist thanks to shu uemura’s expertise in oil technology and an original carefully hand-finished sponge. tap the foundation with the sponge and discover

 - natural glow yet high coverage
– long-lasting moisture yet exquisite fit

 12h moisture, mineral pigments

the unprecedented combination of the lightbulb foundation and the all-new sponge empowers you to glow under any light.

allergy tested

- tested under dermatological control – suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin – non-comedogenic – tested on Asian women

It comes with a pump which I thought very essential in a foundation for easy access. Below are all the liquid foundations that I have, not including compact foundations. Seeing my little collections, I feel like buying more foundations now. Any recommendation?

For texture, I would say its quite thicker compare to GA & Chanel PL but not as thick as Chanel VA. I would also say this one is medium coverage.

Lastly, my face with Shu Uemura lightbulb foundation and powder only. I agree it gives me a natural glow as they claimed it. However, I suggest to visit the counter and asked the MUA to try it on your face. That’s what I did before buying foundations :)

Overall, one of my favorite foundation at the moment beside Chanel PL.

CHANEL Les Beiges All in One Healthy Glow Cream #10

Chanel has just released a new collection – Les Beiges Chanel. I know so many of you in Europe/USA might have seen this collection earlier but this collection has just hit Singapore stores last week. Initially I wanted to pick the powder but I ended up picking up the All in One Healthy Glow Cream . I was told by the SA that this is an Asia Exclusive product, but if anyone has a different information on this, please correct me.

IMG_5217

Chanel  All in One Healthy Glow Cream comes in a identical packaging with the Chanel CC Cream (reviewed here). The only difference is the color of the tube. Chanel Les Beiges Cream comes in a soft nude tube while Chanel CC cream comes in a white packaging. There’s nothing special in this squeezable tube. It’s light, simple and just too plain for my liking.

IMG_5218

Texture/Staying Power:

CHANEL Les Beiges Cream has a very light texture. It is one of the lightest base make up I have ever owned. If you have tried MUFE HD foundation, Chanel Les Beiges Cream has a similar texture to it but this is even lighter. The coverage is medium. Les Beiges Cream helps to conceal my dark circles and small spots. However when the time of the month come, it doesn’t help to conceal few pimples that pops out. Les Beiges Cream  gives a healthy glow finish. I love how my face looks like upon application. It makes my face looks fresh and not oily.

Les Beiges Cream stays on my face throughout the day. I don’t see it fades at the end of the day. Please note that my skin is normal but oily on the T-zone. My T-zone area looks normal after 6 hours of wearing, but after 9 hours it starts to fades.

This base make up has a very nice scent in it. It is the signature Chanel skincare smell which I really like. The smell fades away quickly upon application, so for you who dislike scent in a product, this might not be a problem as it fades quickly.

IMG_5223

CHANEL Les Beiges All in One Healthy Glow Cream comes in two shades; #10 and #20. The SA recommended me to get #10 as Les Beiges collection is created to give more healthy glow and radiant. The shade blends into my skintone nicely. It doesn’t make me look pale at all.

Comparison with other foundation:

I did a comparison between Chanel Les Beiges Cream and my other foundation staples

Chanel CC Cream – Le Beige Cream #10 – Chanel Perfection Lumiere #12 Beige Rose – MUFE HD #117 – Kiehl’s BB Cream Fair

IMG_5225

Compared to Chanel CC Cream, Les Beiges cream has a lighter texture. However the coverage is similar. The Chanel SA told me that CC cream has a skincare benefits whereas Les Beiges Cream is just a base make up that helps to brighten the skin. Personally I feel that I like the Les Beiges Cream better because of it’s light texture. I like Chanel CC cream too but sometimes I feel it’s a bit too thick for CC Cream. CC Cream is thicker n its texture, therefore Les Beiges is more suitable for people with oily skin rather than CC Cream.

If I have to compare Les Beiges Cream to Chanel Perfection Lumiere; I’d say both are very different. Perfection Lumiere has a matte finish and the coverage is medium to full coverage. Les Beiges is much lighter and has a glowy finish.

Kiehl’s BB Cream is light and brighten my skin too;  These two are similar in their texture – both are light. However Les Beiges provide better coverage. Lastly, the comparison between MUFE HD foundation and Les Beiges Cream. MUFE HD has a light texture but Les Beiges is a bit lighter than MUFE HD. In terms of coverage, MUFE HD provides better coverage than Les Beiges Cream.

Final Thought:

Chanel Les Beiges All in One Healthy Glow Cream is a good base make up that provides light texture with a nice coverage for daily use. It makes my face looks glowy without making it look oily. However I don’t think Chanel Les Beiges Cream is not something special that you should have. It’s a very nice product but not the highly must have product on my list.

Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Foundation #3

Dearest readers,

I would like to apologize that I have been missing on the blog for a week. It has been a very busy week for me on my work life and my personal life too. By the time I reached home, I’d feel so tired and has no energy even to just browse beauty blog or watch youtube videos. Now that I have my time to blog, I guess I’d write about something that I have been loving a lot lately :)

I am sure many of you have heard or used Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Foundation . I bought this foundation last month when I had a short trip to Hongkong. I tried this foundation at Giorgio Armani counter and immediately fell in love with the texture. To read more about the details, please keep reading :)

The Packaging:

Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Foundation is packed in a matte looking glass bottle with a black cap. The design of the bottle is very simple yet looking sleek. I guess most of Giorgio Armani products possess such image to me; simple yet sleek.

IMG_5011The Texture/Lasting Power

This foundation is targeted to people with dry skin, so the texture is creamy and feels very soft. I like the feeling when I tried it on my hands, it feels smooth and blends very well. The coverage is medium to full coverage. For my whole face, I usually pump once or twice (depending on where I am going on that day).  My skin type is normal-combination. My cheek area can sometimes be a little bit dry. So on those days, Designer Lift foundation is my #1 choice. It helps to hydrate my skin throughout the day.

So far this foundation lasts for 10 hours with me without fading. I am very contented with the lasting power of this product because my daily foundation routine does not consist of primer. I hardly use primer unless I know it’s going to be a long day for me. Giorgio Armani Designer Lift Foundation lasts for 10 hours with me even without primer.

The Shade/Swatch:

As you can see in the swatches below, this foundation blends in beautifully onto my skin. It leaves a dewy finish without making your face looks oily. I am a MAC NC20 and I chose #3; the shade looks closest to my skintone.

Final Thought:

I have been using this product for the past 1 month and so far I have been loving it a lot. On the days when my skin feels dry, I can feel that this foundation helps to hydrate my skin and moreover it lasts on my face for 10 hours without fading. Need I say more? I just love it!

Chanel CC Cream Review

I have heard so many rave about the newly launched Chanel CC Cream and I am lucky to get my husband to pick a tube for me from Changi DFS at SGD62. Chanel CC Cream is retailing in department stores at SGD82. This is my first ever tube of CC cream; I have never tried BB cream either. My base makeup is always either my Avene High Protection Sunscreen or Burberry Velvet Foundation.

I have only been using this CC cream for few days but the finished look has been consistent for these few days and I think it’s fine for me to write the review. Chanel CC cream is only available in one shade 20 Beige. I am MAC NC20 shade and this 20 beige shade match my skintone pretty well.

Packaging:

It’s a white plastic squeezable tube with black cap. I think the packaging is rather dull and looks cheap considering this is retailing at $82. It’s very light and handy to be brought on my daily makeup bag.

Texture:

The texture is quite thick but it blends very well. I blend the CC cream with my hands.  The CC Cream has a very nice smell that’s not too strong. It has a sheer coverage and I don’t think this would be good for covering acne scars or spots. This CC cream provides a matte finish without giving an impression that you’re wearing foundation. It’s matte but it does not make your face looks flat.

Lasting Power:

Chanel CC cream lasts for 8 hours with me and the best thing of this CC cream is that it does not makes my face oily. Usually my face tends to be oily after 4-5 hours of application but it’s not the case with Chanel CC cream. My face still looks the same even after 6 hours without any touch-ups.

Final Thought:

Overall Chanel CC Cream has done a very good job to my skin. What I love the most is this product does not make my skin oily after hours of application. I also love the finish look. My skin looks fresh and it does not look like I am using a foundation.
