Urban Decay – The Theodora & Glinda Palette

Hi everyone…

I know this might be a very very late review but better than nothing right? and the good thing is, The Glinda palette is still available in BeautyBay.com though I can’t see Theodora anymore 🙁

Both palettes comes with 6 eyeshadows which 2 of those are duo-color, so makes that 8 shades in total. Then an eye pencil and a lip color. It also comes with the instructions how to get Theodora/Glinda look.

Let’s start with The Theodora Palette first;  the colors are more in my comfort zone and it consists of six brand eyeshadows which two are duo-shades (never-before-seen!!), black eye pencil and Theodora super-saturated high-gloss lip color (red color).

Bottom line: eyeshadow and eyeliner are very wearable, colors are very pigmented and the eyeliner is very soft and smooth. I didn’t experience much fall out but unfortunately red lip color doesn’t suit me at all.

Now time to show The Glinda Palette; I have a bit of doubt with this one because it is not the color I used to wear tho the palette looks very pretty and girly ;p but I’m more a “neutral” person. It also consists of 6 eyeshadows which 2 are duo-shades, Purple eye pencil and Glinda Super-saturated high-gloss lip color (nude color).

Bottom line: I did experience fall out but eyeshadow primer fixed this issues. I really do love the purple eye pencil from the color (much nicer than picture above) and the texture. The eyeshadow turned out really good too. On top of that the lip color is wearable for me.

Last but not least, my look wearing both palettes. PS: I didn’t go out looking like this. If you wondering :p

UD EOTD

I’m a team Glinda at the end but I also happy with Theodora palette. Such a difficult decision to make if you have to choose one. That’s why I ended up buying both. Anyway great texture, pigmentation and most importantly good value.

Hope this review useful! Thanks for reading and have a great week ahead !!

Uk Trip Haul :D

Hello guys!

I have been shopping a lot during the holiday! UK has plenty of makeup brands that I could not find in Singapore and I took the chance of getting those things! I know I’ve been a bad girl during the holiday. When I reached home after the holiday, I felt guilty looking at my new stuffs 🙁 But anyway I enjoyed my holiday so much and now I should work hard to pay off those shopping damages LOL 😀

Suqqu

This is Suqqu counter in Selfridges Manchester. I didn’t take more pictures as I was too excited to look for products here. I had fun swatching many products. There are many items that are not available there because I think it sold out pretty quickly.

Here are my Suqqu haul; 2 eyeshadow, 1 blush and 1 eyebrow palette.

Illamasqua

These pictures are also taken in Illamasqua counter in Selfridges Manchester.  The Illamasqua counter there is very happening with 3 SAs that have dramatic makeup and dresses! The thing that gets me most excited is to see their blushes. I have Illamasqua blush in Hussy and I love it to bits. I had fun swatching at the blush counter and decided to pick

I purchased three items from Illamasqua; a blush, an eye palette and a cream highlighter.

Chantecaille

I picked this Chantecaille Classic Palette in Harrods. This palette was on sale together with the Tiger in the Wild palette. Chantecaille products pricing are so expensive even after the price reduction. I paid (£50 or £75, can’t remember exactly). Honestly I bought this only because I want to collect a product from a brand that I have never had before. I will do a review about this palette soon (I hope 🙂 )

Drugstore Haul from Boots & Superdrug

I had fun in both Superdrugs and Boots mostly in between Christmas – New year because they are having generous promotions. I bought quite a number of products there as they are having a “Buy 2 get 3” promotions and I will get a free goodie bag when I buy 5 products or more. Gosh I could not control myself and bought there things with me. I know I am a bad girl when it comes to shopping but I’ll give myself an excuse since this is a year end holiday :p

Real Technique Brushes

Sleek Eye and Blush Palettes

Miscellaneous brands – Maybelline Color Tattoo, Revlon Lipstain, Max Factor lipfinity, Loreal Eyeshadow, Rimmel Eyeliner, etc.

Model’s Own and Barry M are one of those brands that excites me the most in Boots and Superdrug. Their glittery nail polishes are to die for! Barry M nail polishes were about £3-£5 each and Model’s Own were about £5 each.

That’s all I have for you 🙂

I have many things to be reviewed and please be patient with me LOL.

Thank you for reading.

YSL Summer Look 2012 Pure Chromatics #8 Earthy and Eye Pencil in #8 Luminescent Gold

Summer is almost over but this does not stop me from buying summer make up. If you have been following us on instagram (@memoiselle) , I have posted photos from my Jakarta trip. I went back last week for my grandma’s birthday and I bought few items during my trip. I bought Pure Chromatics #8 Earthy, Eye Pencil #8 Luminescent Gold, YSL Touche Eclat and YSL Rouge Volupte in #7. 2 of the products I bought are part of YSL Summer Look 2012. Not everything I show here are mine, some are my mom’s 🙂

I have reviewed YSL Rouge Volupte #7 Pink Lingerie in my previous post. In this post I am going to review the Pure Chromatics and the Eye Pencil. This post is going to be picture heavy 🙂

Pure Chromatics #8 Earthy

Pure Chromatics eyeshadow can be used wet and dry. That’s the reason why I love this range. #8 Earthy consists of 4 shimmering color. I like 3 colors from this pan. The upper left color is a nice color that can be used as a base. It’s a nice neutral color that won’t look too much for my skin (MAC NC20). The upper right color is the color that I least liked from this pan. It’s just a shimmering color that can be used as a highlight. The lower left color is very pretty too. This can be used as a base for a darker skin tone color or as a crease color for a fairer skintone. My favorite color from this palette is the lower right color, it’s a gorgeous khaki shade. I am surely using this to create a soft smoky look. The color is great for smokey look as this is not too dark for a daily use.

I swatched both dry and wet for you to see. The color shows much better when it’s swatched wet. Look at the pretty khaki color 🙂

Eye Pencil in #8 Luminescent Gold

At first I was not impressed by the color of this eyeliner. But after trying it on my inner corner, I gave up and get this one. In my opinion, great eyeliner must be soft, pigmented, smudge proof, waterproof and last for more than 6 hours. This eyeliner is very soft and pigmented, the color shows up easily. It only need one swipe to show the gorgeous color it has. Sadly this is not smudge proof; I swiped this on my hand and I smudged it after 3 minutes and I can see that some colors are scattered.

Then I did a waterproof test on this eyeliner. This product scores very well on this. I took this picture on my sink after I did the smudge test and you can see that the color stays there, it does not smudge because of water.

On the picture below, I am using #8 Luminescent Gold on my inner corner.

I am not going to review the touche eclat this time as it is my mum’s so I could not use it for few times before writing a review.

Anyway I am going to show my FOTD on my grandma’s bday. I curled my hair on special occasions and thought I would love to share the picture with you.

Products used:

Base Makeup: Avene Sunblock, YSL Touche Eclat in shade #2, MAC pressed powder in NC20

Eyes: Urban Decay Primer Potion, Urban Decay NAKED Palette, L’Oreal Infallible in Eternal Black, Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner in black, Lancome Eyebrow Pencil, Ardell False Eyelash in Daisy Black.

Cheeks: Burberry Summer Glow, Lunasol Glowing Powder Cheeks in EX03 Pure Coral Pink

Lip: Chanel Rouge Coco in #20 Rose Comete and Chanel Glossimer in #151 Aragonite

If you like YSL Pure Chromatics, I have previously reviewed YSL Pure Chromatics in No 3 , that’s a gorgeous palette too 🙂

So can you guess which product(s) belong to me and which one(s) belong to my mum? :p

I am very happy I can share this long post with you. I hope you enjoy this post. Leave me a comment below to let me know what you think 🙂

Lunasol Noble Shade Liner in 03 Reddish Brown

Last month, Kanebo held a beauty sale at Chevron House. I made a flash visit to the sale and felt very satisfied leaving the sale with few items that’s really worth buying. One of the items I bought was Lunasol Noble Shade Liner. I can’t remember the exact price but if I am not wrong this was sold at S$17. There are 3 colors for this range; 01 Noble Black, 02 Khaki Brown and Reddish Brown. I picked 03 reddish brown as I don’t have anything like this in my stash.

The packaging is good. It’s made from glass and metal material which makes this eyeliner looks tough. I am a big fan of this packaging. It makes me feel this product is worth buying since they pack it into a very nice looking product. The handle is made from metal and it’s very easy to use. It’s long enough for my hand size and the brush is designed pretty well. The size of the brush is not as small as Chanel’s liquid eyeliner (here); it’s slightly bigger but I think it’s good enough for me to draw a line in my lid.

What I love most about this product is the texture. This liquid liner is not as runny as other liquid liner. It’s somewhat sticky. I would say this looks like a gel liner in a liquid form (I wonder if I said this correctly). It’s very pigmented. You can see the opacity in one swipe. Another thing that I love is the waterproof quality of this product! Yes it is quite hard to remove when it comes to face cleansing time but given the fact that I have a very oily eyelid, this eyeliner does not smudge at all! How fantastic is that! I rarely find eyeliner that does not smudge at all with me (K-palette color tattoo is one of them though 🙂 ). This is a good find for me. You can see the swatches below

I don’t have too many brown eyeliner in my stash to compare ut looking at these 3 eyeliners, I am glad I bought this eyeliner. I don’t have anything similar to Lunasol’s.

In the picture above, you can see how waterproof it is. This picture is taken while water is flowing from my sink. The color doesn’t change at all. It looks just right.

And here are two pictures to show you how this eyeliner look on my eye. FYI the eyeshadow I am wearing is Benefit Tattle Tale and Chanel Matelassées .

Final Thought:

Overall I am very satisfied with this eyeliner. The packaging is really good; it’s convincing and makes me feel confident that this eyeliner would works very well. I bought this at approximately S$17 during sale but I have not checked the exact market price for this. The texture was great too; it doesn’t crease at all after 6 hours of wearing. The color looks unique and I don’t have anything like this. I don’t have any bad thing to say about this but if I have to, I would say that the ONLY bad thing about this is that this product is very hard to remove. However this is not a problem for me. I would rather have a hard to remove product rather than an easy to remove product but create smudges.

I hope this post helps and leave me a comment below to let me know what you think 🙂
