Guerlain Ecrin 4 Couleurs in 05 Les Gris – Swatch and EOTD

Hi everyone!

Finally I owned Guerlain eyeshadow, have been wanted this for a while and I realized I’m pretty late owning this palette. They do have 10 irresistible palettes which again made me hard to choose one. Anyway I bought Les Gris since I don’t have something similar in these color or other words out of my comfort zone! I tend to use nude colors eyeshadow.

Swatches on my arm without primer and taken in daylight without flash:

Finally, EOTD using all four colors from the palette with Lancome Artliner. For the lash I used Majolica Lash Bone in Black Fiber and Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara.

Overall, the palette is very easy to blend and love the blue/teal color but It won’t be my weekday makeup oh maybe on Friday 😉

Thanks for reading and have a good weekend!

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil

NYX is one drug store brand that I have been wanting to try. The main reason of this is because I watched beauty gurus on youtube too much. One of my favorite beauty gurus; Jen from frmheadtotoe , she often use NYX make up to create a very nice look on her. I am curious of the quality of the quality of NYX. I decide to give a try to it’s Jumbo Pencil Eyeliner. The color that I bought were Black Bean and Iced Mocha.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil is described as a eyeliner that also can be used as an eyeshadow base. A dual function product is always a good steal! However, I found that dual function product usually has some drawbacks in one of their function. So we’ll see if NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil has a better function as an eyeliner or an eyeshadow base 🙂

1. Black Bean

Black Bean is a matte black color. The color is just a plain black. The pigmentation is good and you don’t need to swipe a few times to get a very dark black. The size of this pencil makes it to be very easy to be applied as a eyeshadow base.

Here’s how it looks on my eye:

Although it’s very easy to be applied as an eyeliner; I don’t really recommend this product. It crease very easily. Also, when I tried to smudge it with my finger to get a black eyeshadow base, I find it very hard to blend the color evenly. You can see some uneven color at the right side of the picture. Overall, black bean is a nay for me.

2. Iced Mocha

Iced Mocha is a warm brown color with a hint of shimmer. The pigmentation of this is also good, however you might want to swipe this a few times to get the opacity level that you want.

Here’s the swatch:

In my opinion, Iced Mocha is much better than Black Bean. The pigmentation of this eye pencil is just nice to be used as an eyeshadow base. Also, it’s very easy to be blend. I don’t find any difficulties in blending the color together. I love warm tone on my eyelid. Neutral color  like this is very easy to be mixed and matched with many colors. Again, similar to Black Bean, I won’t recommend this to be used as an eyeliner. It smudges easily especially if you have an oily lid.

In this picture, I blend Iced Mocha and Black Bean together. I love how it looks on my eyelid. Firstly, I applied Iced Mocha blend it all over my eyelid. Again, I applied Iced Mocha on my lower eyelid to have a darker color. Lastly, I applied Black Bean on my lower lid to have an even darker color. I blend it all over until I can see a gradation. I am satisfied with how it looks and moreover, it stays for 5-6 hours without smudge!

My final thought on NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil:

This product is better used as a cream shadow rather than an eye pencil. It stays long as an eyeshadow but smudge easily as an eyeliner. I don’t recommend Black Bean because of the smudging problem and it’s very hard to blend. However, Iced Mocha is worth trying. It blends easily and it creates a nice color.

Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill in #8 Champagne & #1 Blast of Blue

When I bought my first eyes to kill, my intention is just to have one since most of the bloggers love eyes to kill so much.

I wanted the color that can be use itself without using other shadows and somehow the SA insist me this champagne color is the best.  I thought this gonna be the items that I bought but hardly used it and put it somewhere in the back of the drawer. Anyway it doesn’t look that good if I just use by itself but once I blend it with other eyeshadow (I always blend ETK champagne with nude or brown eyeshadow), it looks very nice and I’ve got some compliments and I have been using it since then.

The other thing I love is the color stay the whole day without using any primer.

Champagne is my first eyes to kill and you probably can see its a bit messy and very crumbly.  Is it suppose to be like this after using it for a while?

I just bought my second eyes to kill not long ago and see the difference? it’s still very smooth.

My favorite still the champagne color even though I am a bit sad with the messy texture but both colors are very wearable. See also our review and swatches for Giorgi Armani Eyes to Kill #2Lust Red and #7 Sweet Fire.

Thanks for reading and have a great week ahead!

Chanel Limited Edition White Whisper Quad

I am so lucky that I am still able to get Chanel White Whisper, This eyeshadow quad was released for their summer 2009 limited collection. I saw this in Chanel counter at Isetan and this is the last quad they have. The quad consists of 4 colors which are mostly natural and sheer color. Only one of them is a dark color. The color pigmentation of the shadows are not fantastic, they are very sheer and very shimmery.

From all the 4 colors in this quad, my favorite are the pink color and the champagne color. The colors are quite well pigmented and both can be used as eyeshadow and highlighter. The white color is just too sheer, nothing fantastic. I would say the black color is the worst color among all. It’s very difficult to be blend. The trick to blend the dark color better is that to swipe a very thin layer and gradually adding more to it. If you take a heavy swipe at a time, what would happen is that the color won’t blend nicely. You can see the outcome in my swatch below.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy your Saturday 🙂

Lunasol Petal Pure Eyes in 02 Clear Pink

Finally I have Lunasol eyeshadow set! I believe this is from Spring 2012 collection and comes with three different colors. I haven’t seen this in person and bought mine on the internet. I am a bit surprised when I received it, since it more shimmery than I thought. I personally prefer eyeshadow which not too shimmery so it can be use everyday.

I took the picture  above under natural lights while the one below under indoor lights.

And this is what I found in Lunasol website on how to use the eyeshadow set.

Overall I’m not loving the shimmery colors of this eyeshadow set and it does hard to use and blend the color together. Oh well this is what you get when you haven’t seen it in person and didn’t do much research for swatches and reviews but at least it looks pretty especially with the flower!
