If there’s a brand that always makes me excited over their launches, Tom Ford is definitely one of them! For Spring 2015, Tom Ford has launched some rather unusual colors. The brand focuses on bold eyeshades rather than the usual pastels shades that we would see in most brands.
Tom Ford has three limited edition eye color duos for this Spring;
- Raw Jade
- Crushed Indigo
- Ripe Plum
Each palette would consist of two shades; an opaline shade that’s created uniquely for each palette and a darker metallic shade. Raw Jade is a khaki green and paired with a mint shimmery finish. Crushed Indigo is a combination of dark blue with shimmer and a metallic lavender shade. Ripe Plum is a combination between dark brown and a light metallic pink.
Without any doubt, Tom Ford eyeshadow delivers excellent pigmentation quality. This can be seen from my swatches above. It’s very easy to get the colors pop – no need too much layering. The eyeshadows can also be worn dry and wet. I’ve the swatches below for both wet and dry. When it is swatched wet, the metallic shades pops better than when it is swatched dry.
I’ve tried both wet and dry application to my eyelids; and for the sake of efficiency, I would prefer to wear it dry.
Here’s some closer look of Raw Jade when it is swatched both dry and wet over indirect sunlight.
For this spring collection, Tom Ford also released two new mascaras, Teal Intense and Black Plum.
“Tom Ford’s mascara has specially designed brush, full and dense, allows lash filling powders in a creamy formula to last throughout the day without clumping or crumbling, amplifying the eyes’ dramatic impact”
I’ve got Teal Intense to match with my Raw Jade, and so far this is one of the mascara that doesn’t smudge on me! Thumbs up!
Alongside with this collection, Tom Ford also releases 4 Lip Shines that which will be out earlier than the rest of the collection. This will arrive in February in Singapore.
In the EOTD below, I am using a green pencil eyeliner and smudge it out. I also used a primer under neath to make sure that the color stays longer. Then I applied the deep green shade on my outer corner and build the colors by layering. I applied the metallic mint green shade on my inner corner to accentuate the look. As you can see, when both colors are layered together, it creates a new shade of green – it comes out as a lovely mid metallic green.
Other than the excellent pigmentation, another thing that impressed me the most is the staying power. This eyeshadow stays perfectly for at least 6 hours with me. I did notice the color fades a little by the 9th hour, but it is totally forgivable as I was spending my time outdoor most of the time on that day.
