Quick Swatch: Maybelline Color Tattoo is now available in Singapore

Hi ladies,

Memoiselle has been quiet for the last few days because of Chinese New Year holiday. Now I am back to my daily activities and would like to show you a quick swatch of Maybelline Color Tattoo. Color tattoo is finally available in Singapore after so long! It has been available since late 2012 but only now I found myself time to start posting on this.

I am sure many of you have seen Color Tattoo reviews online and I hope it’s still fine for me to write something about it :) Please stay tune to know more.

The Packaging:

Maybelline Color Tattoo has a similar packaging design with Chanel Illusion d’Ombre and Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill. The pot is made of glass and has a black cap. I have snapped a comparison picture for Maybelline’s color tattoo packaging with the two other brands and as you can see in the picture below, it looks quite similar. I personally love the packaging of Color Tattoo; it looks simple and nice. It doesn’t look cheap at all.

The Texture and Lasting Power:

Color tattoo has a very similar texture to Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow. It’s easy to wear as a base or crease color. So far I have been using Color Tattoo as a base color and it works very well on me. The pigmentation is good, the color shows up in just first swipe.

On the lasting power, I think Maybelline color tattoo is famous for its great staying power. At first I was kind of skeptical and doesn’t believe that Color Tattoo stays for long. But when I tried it on me, it stays for the whole day and I only see a very minimal crease because I have an oily lids.  This is very satisfying! :)

Swatches:

The Color:

Bad to The Bronze – As the name says, it’s a bronze color with a slight shimmer.

Permanent Taupe – A matte greyish taupe. I see this more as a grey color rather than taupe. I find this color rather flat and boring.

Edgy Emerald – It’s a very nice jade green color which is also the pantone 2013 color. Definitely my favorite :)

Immortal Charcoal – An ashy grey, best for base smokey eye color. I love this color, it looks sexy ;)

Turquoise Forever – It’s truly a turquoise color as the name says. It’s a fun color that reminds me of a colorful peacock.

Final Thought:

Maybelline Color Tattoo is a very good choice for creaseless cream shadow in an affordable price. The packaging looks simple and nice, the texture is nice to be blended and to be used as a base too. Last but definitely not least, the staying power is awesome!

Maybelline Color Tattoo is now available in Singapore, retailing at S$15.90

Suqqu Blend Color Eyeshadows in 14 Kosumosuiro

Hello,

Today I will share my thoughts about Suqqu Blend Color Eyeshadows in 14 Kosumosuiro. This retails at £45 in Selfridges. Kosumosuiro consist of 3 powder eyeshadow and 1 cream green eyeshadow. The three powder eyeshadow are very wearable in colors, a soft pink with shimmer, an off white color and a shimmering taupe.  The cream eyeshadow is a dark khaki without shimmer.

The palette is a thin sleek black palette in a rectangular shape. It comes with a velvety pouch, just like any other branded eyeshadow. There is one mini brush with a very soft hair (softest hair in a mini brush that I have ever touched!) and one mini sponge. Although the mini brush is super soft, I don’t think I’d use it because it’s just way to small to apply/blend.

Now I am going to talk about the powder eyeshadow. Suqqu is very famous with its soft and buttery texture. I have to agree that the texture is very nice; it’s soft, buttery and glides on easily on the eyes. What I love about the texture of this eyeshadow is that it contains fine shimmer that doesn’t look too much when applied. It blends like a dream too! Like many other Japanese make up brands, the pigmentation of this eyeshadow is not the best, I like Urban Decay’s pigmentation better than this. But to you who love sheer looking eyeshadow, this would suits you ladies! I personally would layer twice (or even 3 layers) for a bolder look.

The cream eyeshadow here has a fine texture. The pigmentation is very good and it works very well as a base. If I have to compare the texture of this cream eyeshadow, I would pick Shiseido’s cream eyeshadow as a comparison. The texture are similar, but I have to say that I love Shiseido’s texture better. Shiseido eyeshadow feels softer to me. But judging from its wearability, Suqqu cream shadow lasts the whole day with me without smudging! I love a long lasting eyeshadow :D

In the picture below, I did a swatch indoor and outdoor.

I did a very simple look with this palette for my Sunday brunch. In this look, I am only using the dark green cream eyeshadow and the shimmery taupe.

I hope my review will be helpful to you all :)

Uk Trip Haul :D

Hello guys!

I have been shopping a lot during the holiday! UK has plenty of makeup brands that I could not find in Singapore and I took the chance of getting those things! I know I’ve been a bad girl during the holiday. When I reached home after the holiday, I felt guilty looking at my new stuffs :( But anyway I enjoyed my holiday so much and now I should work hard to pay off those shopping damages LOL :D

Suqqu

This is Suqqu counter in Selfridges Manchester. I didn’t take more pictures as I was too excited to look for products here. I had fun swatching many products. There are many items that are not available there because I think it sold out pretty quickly.

Here are my Suqqu haul; 2 eyeshadow, 1 blush and 1 eyebrow palette.

Illamasqua

These pictures are also taken in Illamasqua counter in Selfridges Manchester.  The Illamasqua counter there is very happening with 3 SAs that have dramatic makeup and dresses! The thing that gets me most excited is to see their blushes. I have Illamasqua blush in Hussy and I love it to bits. I had fun swatching at the blush counter and decided to pick

I purchased three items from Illamasqua; a blush, an eye palette and a cream highlighter.

Chantecaille

I picked this Chantecaille Classic Palette in Harrods. This palette was on sale together with the Tiger in the Wild palette. Chantecaille products pricing are so expensive even after the price reduction. I paid (£50 or £75, can’t remember exactly). Honestly I bought this only because I want to collect a product from a brand that I have never had before. I will do a review about this palette soon (I hope :) )

Drugstore Haul from Boots & Superdrug

I had fun in both Superdrugs and Boots mostly in between Christmas – New year because they are having generous promotions. I bought quite a number of products there as they are having a “Buy 2 get 3″ promotions and I will get a free goodie bag when I buy 5 products or more. Gosh I could not control myself and bought there things with me. I know I am a bad girl when it comes to shopping but I’ll give myself an excuse since this is a year end holiday :p

Real Technique Brushes

Sleek Eye and Blush Palettes

Miscellaneous brands – Maybelline Color Tattoo, Revlon Lipstain, Max Factor lipfinity, Loreal Eyeshadow, Rimmel Eyeliner, etc.

Model’s Own and Barry M are one of those brands that excites me the most in Boots and Superdrug. Their glittery nail polishes are to die for! Barry M nail polishes were about £3-£5 each and Model’s Own were about £5 each.

That’s all I have for you :)

I have many things to be reviewed and please be patient with me LOL.

Thank you for reading.

Possibly My Favorite Cream Eyeshadow! Laura Mercier Metallic Creme Eye Colour in Alloy

I have been looking for good cream eyeshadows from many brands. I have tried Chanel Illusion d’Ombre, Shiseido Cream Color and few other brands. I finally tried LauraMercier Cream Eyeshadow in Alloy and I must say that I am in LOVE LOVE with this product!

The packaging looks very unappealing to me. It looks kinda boring; looks like a toothpaste tube to me. It’s very lightweight and small; it’s good for travelling necessities.

What I love most about this product is the texture. It’s creamy, easy to apply and it lasts for many hours without a single crease! Alloy is a creamy metallic cream color which is suitable for many skintones. It can be used as a eyeshadow base and also can be used itself as an eyeshadow.  The color pigmentation is good but I like to build the color in 2-3 layers for maximum pigmentation. This cream eyeshadow works really well as a base; it holds pressed eyeshadows very well.

This retails for SGD 35 in Singapore Sephora & Tangs Beauty Hall Orchard. I find the price is rather expensive for this packaging, but since the quality of this product is great, I don’t have any complains on this.

The swatch above shows the color in indoor lighting. The left swatch is the amount of cream eyeshadow I usually use on both eyelids for 1 layer of application. The middle swatch is how 2-3 layers look like and the swatch on the right is how it looks like in 1 layer of application.

Final Thought:

Laura Mercier Alloy is suitable for anyone who’s looking for a great cream eyeshadow which can also be used as an eyeshadow base. The color suits many skintone and it holds pressed eyeshadow for very long. I highly recommend this product!

XOXO

Meryl
