Shu Uemura Tint in Gelato Swatches

Hello!

It’s time for me to write a simple thought on one of the most talked about products this season in beauty blogosphere. This spring, Shu Uemura is launching Tint in Gelato. Tint in Gelato is a one stop product for both cheek and lip. Tint in Gelato comes in 12 shades in 4 different shades category. The shades category are PK for Pink, CR for Coral, AT for unique shades, and BG for beige.

The picture above was the same picture I use in Mika for Shu post which I post previously here.

Tint in Gelato comes in a silver tube glass packaging with a see through glass for us to see how much products we have left. Like most Shu Uemura product, I like the simple and sleek design of this product. Although it is simple, the product still looks nice and classy.

The applicator of tint in gelato is rounded with a small hole in the middle. What I like about the applicator is that the applicator feels more flexible, making my application on my lip seems better. It spreads the color nicely on my lip.

Tint in Gelato comes in a mousse texture that makes it feels creamy. It is very smooth and it is very well pigmented. The color pops nicely in one layer. The finish of Tint in Gelato is a semi matte finish. However to get an even color on my lip, I like to apply two thin layers. The applicator is a fine tools to be used for my lip. On my cheek, I usually dab the applicator onto my cheek and blend it with my finger.

This product typically last up to 5 hours on my cheek. While on my lip, they stay put for about 3 hours ( i drink a lot), but the stronger shade will usually leave a stain and the stain can go a long way especially when I reapply the product one more time.

Here are the swatches on my lip. This is Pk03; it is a cool toned bubblegum pink. I like to use this shade on my cheek more than on my lip. On my cheek, it brightens my entire face. However I feel that this shade emphasises my dry lips; so to tackle this issue, I’ll apply a thin layer of lip balm before applying this.

And here’s CR01, a lovely coral shade. I love this shade as it looks nice on both my lips and my cheek. I have this on my make up bag as it is a to go product for both cheek and lips.

Here’s the full swatches of all the 12 shades

In this post, I have 7 shades to be swatched on the back of my hand  and I picked 4 shades to be swatched on my lip below.

YSL Baby Doll Kiss & Blush is pigmented and true to color when swatched on the back of my hand; however when it is applied on my lip, it got quite hard to control due to the thickness of the applicator. It shows up quite sheer for the first layer, and to get the opaque color on my lip, I applied another layer. I  would recommend using a lip brush to get a more even pigmentation and neater application especially for bolder color. While on my cheek, I like to dab in three dots on my cheek and blend it out (shown on the picture below – taken from YSL press information). I have tried blending the product with my fingers and brush; I like to spread the color with my finger first and then blending it out with brush. I am using Tom Ford Cream Foundation brush (02) or Koyudo fupa02 brush for to blend the color.

What I like about the texture of this lip & blush is that is doesn’t makes my lip feel dry. I have tried some other product which can be used for both lip and cheek which is very drying, but this is not the case for YSL Baby Doll. It feels fine on my lip – not fully moisturising but definitely not drying.

The finish of YSL Baby Doll Kiss & Blush looks velvety to me; they are not fully matte nor glossy to me. The swatches on my lip in the pictures below are  my favorite  shades from this range so far. I am not really into bold lip color usually but #5 Rouge Effrontee has got into my favorite shades list from this range.

On the lasting power, I find that it varies among the colors. Some shade stays longer on my lip & cheek while other fades more quickly. YSL baby doll left a stain on my lip and cheek – On the cheek, the shade fades after 4-5 hours, but the stain looks more obvious on my lip and the stain stays on my lip for a longer time. On my lip, the stain lasts for more than 5 hours.

Le Blush Creme de Chanel in Affinite, Revelation and Presage Swatch

Chanel Fall 2013 make up collection has been launched since two months ago and I still can’t stop to talk about how gorgeous the collection is. I have mentioned how much I love Chanel cream blush in Revelation in my previous post here and now I am going to show you another two more blush that I picked up recently. This time I picked up Affinite and Presage.

Affinite is a a bright bubble gum pink. This shade has a blue toned in it. The shade looks very bright on the pan but when it is swatched lightly, it doesn’t look as bright as what you see on the pan. Just remember to dab on lightly and build the shade slowly. I think this shade is suitable for ladies with both light skin and dark skin.

Presage is a coral/orange shade and it is a Limited Edition shade. I don’t usually wear orange shade on my cheek but this shade is an exception. I like how this shade does not make me look washed out but it actually freshen up my whole look. I would suggest for you to grab this shade if you have the chance. This shade is very easy to use and you will less likely to go wrong with it. It is a limited Edition shade so make sure you are not missing this one 🙂

Tips on applying the product:

After trying and testing these products for a while, I realized that there are many ways to apply Chanel Cream blush.

  • Firstly; using your own finger to dab the product onto your cheek. What I usually do is I after I finished applying all my base product, I start to dab my finger and apply it onto my cheek and spread the product evenly to my cheek bone and make sure that the color spreads nicely. If I want to have a more popping blush, I’ll add another layer.
  • Secondly, is to use brush to pick up the color and blend it together. The first brush that I’d recommend to use is Real Technique stippling brush. This brush helps to pick up the color easily but helps to control the application to look natural. The bristles in Real Technique stippling brush is very soft and less dense, hence it helps to spread the color evenly without picking up unnecessary amount of color.
  • Other than real Technique Stippling Brush, I would also recommend Tom Ford Cream Foundation Brush. Tom Ford Cream Foundation brush has denser bristles.

Overall I think Chanel has launched a great collection of cream blushes. It is definitely one of my favorite range of cream blushes out there. The texture is emollient and creamy; more over it stays for a very long time.

Le Blush Crème de CHANEL in Revelation

Hello lovelies!

I can’t believe that it is August now and Fall collection has start hitting the shelves. Fall Collection (apart from Spring collection) is my most highly anticipated make up collection. Usually make up companies are releasing range of neutral and wearable eyeshadows. This year, Chanel releases a range of new cream blush – Le Blush Crème de CHANEL. It consist of 6 blush shade; destiny, presage, affinite, revelation, inspiration and fantastic. I believe this range of blush is a permanent collection except shade Presage and Fantastic.

IMG_5347

The packaging:

Le Blush Crème de CHANEL has a similar packaging with Chanel eyeshadow quad. However this packaging is thinner and smaller. It is very lightweight and very convenient to be put in your make up bag. It doesn’t come with any brush/sponge.

Texture:

Chanel Cream blush has a soft texture in the pan; but when it is applied on my cheek, surprisingly it feels powdery and doesn’t feel like cream. It doesn’t make my skin feel oily at all, it sets on like a powder. It is very easy to apply and it blends nicely on my skin.

Another good news for those of you who are sensitive to scent, this product  has no scent infused. Le Blush Crème de CHANEL can also be applied onto your lip. I like to wear this cream blush on my cheek after my foundation and before setting powder. In this way, Le Blush Crème de CHANEL lasts for 4-5 hours on me and it starts to fade. The lasting power is not the best but it is acceptable for me. The Beauty Look Book recommended Tom Ford Cream Foundation brush to apply this cream blush. I tried that method once and I agree with her that this works very well but it takes more time as I need to wait for my foundation to be fully sent onto my skin. So for my daily application, I usually use my ring ringer to apply the product. I like to layer this product twice on my cheek to get the shade I want. I feel that by adding one more layer onto my cheek makes the product blends more easily.

The look I did in this post is the same look I have posted in the post Guerlain Lingerie de Peau BB Cream. I did not use too many products for this look as I wanna create a minimal make up look for my weekend brunch last week. I am wearing Le Blush Crème de CHANEL in Revelation on both cheek and lip.
