Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate in Intensity 01

Hello everyone,

I know Valentine season has been over, but I just want to share with you that my husband bought me this Tom Ford make up item for my valentine gift. There’s no chocolate or roses this year, just a make up product that I have lusted for a long time. We had a nice dinner on Valentine’s day and it’s always nice to spend time with my loved ones.

Onto the review, Tom Ford shade and Illuminate only comes in one shade in Asia. I believe there are more shades retailing in the USA but sadly only one shade is available here in Asia. This product retails at $100 and it’s available in Tangs Orchard.

The Packaging:

I won’t be talking much of the packaging in this post. The packaging of Shade and Illuminate is the same as the eyeshadow quad. I have shown you the packaging and has talked about it into details in my post of Tom Ford Quad in Cognag Sable and Monica’s post in Golden Mink.

The Color and Texture:

This is actually my first cream bronzer and highlighter, so I can’t compare it with other brand’s cream bronzer/highlighter. I find blending the bronzer with a brush works much better with me. I tried blending with my finger before but it turned out to be patchy. But then I tried blending the bronzer with my Real Technique Stippling Brush and it works very well.

The bronzer match pretty well with my skin. It does not look yellow and give my face a more sculpted look when photographed. The highlighter does not really shows up when swatched on my arm but on my cheek (in real life) looks quite obvious. I really like the color of the highlighter. It has a very fine shimmer that gives my face a radiant look especially on my cheekbone.

Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate can be used after you applied your liquid foundation (before your setting powder) and also can be used on top of your setting powder. I personally like to use the bronzer underneath my setting powder and use the highlighter after I set my face with setting powder. It really depends on personal preferences.

The Swatch:

The Look:

I created a simple look with Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate. In this look, I swiped two layers of bronzer underneath my setting powder and top it off again with another 1 layer of bronzer on top of the powder.

Final Thought:

Honestly I don’t think I love this product as much as I want to. This product does the job pretty well but maybe I just like powder bronzer better than the cream one. Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate is a nice item to collect but I think you can find other brand that gives you the same result without needing to pay as much as $100. I am not disappointed with this product but I am also not WOWed.

What cream bronzer have you tried? I would like to explore more so please leave a comment below 🙂

Uk Trip Haul :D

Hello guys!

I have been shopping a lot during the holiday! UK has plenty of makeup brands that I could not find in Singapore and I took the chance of getting those things! I know I’ve been a bad girl during the holiday. When I reached home after the holiday, I felt guilty looking at my new stuffs 🙁 But anyway I enjoyed my holiday so much and now I should work hard to pay off those shopping damages LOL 😀

This is Suqqu counter in Selfridges Manchester. I didn’t take more pictures as I was too excited to look for products here. I had fun swatching many products. There are many items that are not available there because I think it sold out pretty quickly.

Here are my Suqqu haul; 2 eyeshadow, 1 blush and 1 eyebrow palette.

These pictures are also taken in Illamasqua counter in Selfridges Manchester.  The Illamasqua counter there is very happening with 3 SAs that have dramatic makeup and dresses! The thing that gets me most excited is to see their blushes. I have Illamasqua blush in Hussy and I love it to bits. I had fun swatching at the blush counter and decided to pick

I purchased three items from Illamasqua; a blush, an eye palette and a cream highlighter.

I picked this Chantecaille Classic Palette in Harrods. This palette was on sale together with the Tiger in the Wild palette. Chantecaille products pricing are so expensive even after the price reduction. I paid (£50 or £75, can’t remember exactly). Honestly I bought this only because I want to collect a product from a brand that I have never had before. I will do a review about this palette soon (I hope 🙂 )

Drugstore Haul from Boots & Superdrug

I had fun in both Superdrugs and Boots mostly in between Christmas – New year because they are having generous promotions. I bought quite a number of products there as they are having a “Buy 2 get 3” promotions and I will get a free goodie bag when I buy 5 products or more. Gosh I could not control myself and bought there things with me. I know I am a bad girl when it comes to shopping but I’ll give myself an excuse since this is a year end holiday :p

Real Technique Brushes

Sleek Eye and Blush Palettes

Miscellaneous brands – Maybelline Color Tattoo, Revlon Lipstain, Max Factor lipfinity, Loreal Eyeshadow, Rimmel Eyeliner, etc.

Model’s Own and Barry M are one of those brands that excites me the most in Boots and Superdrug. Their glittery nail polishes are to die for! Barry M nail polishes were about £3-£5 each and Model’s Own were about £5 each.

That’s all I have for you 🙂

I have many things to be reviewed and please be patient with me LOL.

Thank you for reading.

Burberry Beauty Event at Tangs Orchard

Last December I attended a Beauty Blogger event from Burberry. I snapped some pics so that you guys know what’s happening 🙂

Celebrity Make Up Artist Larry Yeo was there to do a demo makeup. He was using Burberry Palette in Smoky Grey 01.

I received some goodies from Burberry to try on the products. During the event, some items were going on sale too. I purchased few items. So here are the items I purchased and I received during the event 🙂

I am going to do a quick review on the make up products here. I will only share about my thoughts on the texture and the color in this post. I will have a more detailed post on the packaging or FOTD in a separate post.

Burberry Palette No 6 in Plum Pink

This is my first ever Burberry eye palette. Plum Pink is a very pretty palette. It combines neutrals with plum colors. The texture and pigmentation does not disappoints, it blends very easily and the color payoff is so nice.

Burberry Lip Velvet in Rose Pink

Rose Pink is a dark pink with a hint of plum. Burberry Lip Velvet has amazing texture and pigmentation. It glides on easily and it stays with me for at least 4-5 hours. Although I am not a fan of lip velvet because it’s less moisturizing, I can’t say that I don’t like Burberry Lip Velvet. It has great moisturizing effect on me compared to lip velvet/matte from other brands.

Burberry Blush in Earthy

I have always been wanting to get Burberry Blush in Earthy. It has a very subtle warm color that blends very well to my cheek. It has matte finish hence it’s very suitable to be used as a contour powder. I am so glad that I got this blush as it’s very versatile. I am currently using this more as a bronzer but in times when I don’t feel like wearing blush or when I am wearing a bolder lip color, I will reach for Burberry earthy as both bronzer and blush.

Wow, that’s a pretty long post. I hope I would be able to do some LOTD post for you. I have so many items to be reviewed so please bear with me if I am kinda late to post the FOTDs or any detailed post 🙂

Nars Laguna Review

Hi all!

I am currently addicted to Bronzers. For the last few months, I been watching make up tutorial on youtube and been asking few of my MUA friends to teach me how to contour my face. I used to have no confidence to wear bronzers as I was afraid that my face would look two toned LOL!! After few trial and errors, I am finally confident that I can do contouring to myself. Well my contouring technique is not perfect, I still need to learn to blend more smoothly but at least I am happy now 🙂

Nars Laguna is one of the bronzers that many people are raving about. I got this last month and I have been using this for the last few days. Nars Laguna texture is very good. It blends nicely and it’s so buttery. It has micro shimmer that looks very nice when applied. I usually avoid buying shimmery bronzer as I prefer a matte bronzer to avoid glowy face throughout the day. But Nars Laguna seems to be different. The shimmer is finely melt into my skin and it results in a very nice glow without making my face looks too oily/glowy.

I have swatched Nars Laguna alongside with my other bronzers; Burberry Sheer Summer Glow and Too Faced Bronzing Powder in Chocolate Soleil. As you can see, all the colors look similar because I am choosing a bronzing powder that can be used daily. However Nars Laguna seems to be more pigmented and provides a more shimmery finish. Burberry Sheer Summer Glow  seems to have the sheerest texture.

I did a look with Nars Laguna.

The face product I used in this look:

Burberry Velvet Finish Foundation

NARS Laguna

NARS Deep Throat

Final Thought:

Nars Laguna is raved worthy! Excellent formula, great color and great pigmentation!

Chanel Notorious Sculpting Veil paired with Orange lips from Chanel Rouge CocoSari Dore – Review and Look

Today I have two products to show you. It’s the highly discussed Chanel Notorious Sculpting Veil for Eyes and Cheek and Chanel Rouge Coco in Sari Dore. I bought Sari Dore very long ago (more than a year) but had no guts to wear it since the color looks so bright on me. However today I dared myself to wear this outside 😉

Chanel Notorious has recently hit Singapore shore. There’s something very unique about this product that makes me curious about this product. I have seen swatches of this in many beauty blogs and I think this item is really a collector item.

The SA at Chanel store in Ion Orchard told me that Notorious can be used for both eyes and cheeks. It is the grey color that intrigued me to buy this and see how it looks as a contour on my cheek. Messy Wands has done a great contoured look with Notorious, I think it suits her very well.

The grey color is very sheer but if you are applying this on your cheek, you need to be careful when dabbing your brush. Although it is sheer, the color shows up very well.

I have tried this on my cheek and I must say that at first it feels weird to see grey contour on my cheek. However after few moments, I start to love the color so much. It creates an in depth look on your cheek. My cheekbone does not shows up naturally so I am always thankful if I could find a nice contouring product. Chanel notorious gives me a more in depth look.

Chanel Rouge Coco Sari Dore is a coral/orange lipstick with a satiny finish. A year ago I was really scared to pull an orange on my lips but after trying to pull this shade again, I must say I love the color so much! I think the color looks very vibrant yet doesn’t look too much. I am sure this color works on most skintone.

In the look I created below, I am pairing Chanel Notorious with Sari Dore. I wore Notorious on my cheekbone as a contour. I am still a beginner in contouring so pardon me if it doesn’t look that good. The blush I am wearing is Illamasqua Hussy which I currently love a lot. If you could notice, I am also wearing Notorious on my eyelids. I applied Notorious on top of my eyeshadow color lightly. The eyeshadow I am using is Chanel Enigma (Asia/Euro baked version, applied wet).

Final Thought:

Chanel Notorious gives a very nice shadow into my cheek. I am happy that my cheekbone shows  better with this product. It’s a true collector product; if you like Chanel makeup, you must buy this one! Sari Dore is a great orange lipstick that brighten up the whole look. This is worth a look if you’re looking for coral lipstick with satiny finish.
