Recently Illamasqua is having free shipping promotion. I have never had any Illamasqua products before and so excited to grab few products that I might like. Many people gave positive review about Illamasqua products especially the blushes. The order came after approximately 2 weeks in a black box and wrapped nicely.
I bought a blush in Hussy, and a pair of nail polish in Viridian and Glitterati. Illamasqua packed a sample perfume bottle in Freak.
Illamasqua described Hussy as a bright candy matte blush. Personally I see this as a bright pink with a hint of coral in it. The texture of this blush is very nice. The pigmentation is fine, it’s not too heavy. It’s nice to swipe my Tom Ford Cheek Brush without worrying that it’s going to have too much blush in it. This blush blends very well too. In terms of longevity, this blush works fine. It lasts for about 4-5 hours with me.
The packaging is made with a black plastic case. There’s nothing much special about the packaging. I did not go crazy about the packaging but it looks pretty fine.
I did a comparison of Hussy and Bobbi Brown in Peony. Hussy leans more towards peachy and Peony is a very bright pink.
This is how it looks on me.
For a first purchase, I would say I am impressed with the texture. I like the Hussy as it brighten up my overall look. For a £16 product, I think this product is worth trying.
I know summer has been over and we are already seeing lots of Christmas collection product. However I bought these products during Luxasia Beauty Bazaar last week. I am so glad that I found these during the sale. These products were on my lemming list but because of the hefty price tag I did not get it. I am glad I paid SGD 50 for the Terra Azzura and SGD 12 for Paradisio.
Such a pretty sight to see! The packaging is so luxe. I love the wooden case with “Guerlain by Emillio Pucci” engraved in it. It’s a hefty casing which showcase the elegance of this product. There’s an Emillio Pucci pouch provided too. I love Emillio Pucci’s printed design. They are gorgeous! 🙂
However there’s one thing which I dislike from the packaging. The packaging is only aligned with three mini magnetic button. I think this is a little bit unsecured and prone to scratches. I would much prefer the casing are connected with the usual button.
The bronzer is quite sheer. In my opinion, this would look great for fair skin tone. On deeper skintone, this might not show up very well. The texture is nicely done. It blends easily and it creates a natural looking sculpted face.
I did a simple contouring with this bronzer. I am a beginner in contouring, so pardon me if it doesn’t look right LOL. I am also using the blush on top of the bronzer.
Paradisio is a coral red creme nail polish. The color is not unique at all, it’s certainly easy to find the dupe for the color. The formula of this polish is okay. It’s not extraordinary as it leans towards thick formula. It looks uneven on the first coat but it looks opaque on the 2nd coat. I apologize that the swatch does not look good, I took the picture after 3 days of wearing this polish. Hence it has shrunk a bit.
I also has swatched Guerlain Summer 2012 Nail polish in 02 Riviera. You can see the swatch here .
Terra Azzura has a very nice texture. It blends wonderfully and I foresee that I will be using this as a bronzer a lot. Paradisio is not disappointing but not excites me as well. It’s a nice nail polish but it doesn’t have any “oomph” factor.
I will be posting a quick post about my haul at Luxasia Warehouse Sale 2012.
I found out about this warehouse sale from Michelle from Ice Frost Diary‘s blog. I missed this event last year so I definitely would not want to miss this event again.
The sale was mainly about perfume. There are too many brands of perfume to mention; Chloe, Marc Jacob, Balenciaga, Hermès, Prada, Annick Goutal, acqua di parma, etc. The make up brands are Burberry, Guerlain, RMK, Anna Sui. There are many french skincare brands too!
Here’s a quick snap of my haul:
My hauls are mainly Burberry makeup product. The eyeshadows are at $15, The lipstick was at $20, Concealer was at $25, Lip liner was at $12. The non make up item I bought from Burberry is Burberry The Beat Perfume. This was sold at $49 (50ml)
I also picked Guerlain Emillio Pucci Terra Azzura at $50. I am so happy that finally I am getting this at a more reasonable price. I believe this was retailed at more than $100. I also picked up the nail polish at $12.
I hope to review these makeup items soon. I really want to use my Burberry products as soon as possible and see how much I like them 🙂
Thank you for reading!
I am very excited to share with you my recent purchase of this gorgeous blush! Le Metier De Beauté Blush Kaleidoscope is one thing that I have been craving for months!! Thanks to Miss J who helped me to get this 🙂 I have heard LOTS of good reviews about this blush and I can’t wait to share my thoughts with you all 🙂
The packaging is surely the main reason I attracted to this blush. It’s very unique and I have never seen anything like this before. There are 4 blush colors in this; matte peach, matte pink, shimmery peach and shimmery pink. I like the idea that they are putting 4 different blushes on a same pan. I foresee that I will bring this blush when I travel. I can choose any color that I want and I can also mix the colors 🙂
First of all, I would like to talk about the pigmentation of this blush. This blush is very pigmented. I need to be very careful when I dabbed my brush or else I’d look like a clown :p The texture is pretty good; it’s quite soft. I actually hoped that it would be softer and buttery for the hefty price tag I paid. But to be more objective, I think the texture of this blush is good enough. The shimmers are softer than the mattes.
Let’s take a look at the swatches 😀
As you can see, This blush is VERY pigmented. When applying, I always try to dab it very lightly and try to build the color slowly. I like the idea that we can actually mix and match the blush color to create the colors that we desire. So far I have only tried mixing the pink matte and the pink shimmer. I am sure I will be enjoying my time mixing the colors to see what unique color I can get from this blush. 🙂
I did a look with this blush. I chose the matte pink for my FOTD 🙂
Have you tried any of Le Metier de Beauté product? What do you think of it?
I hope you enjoy this post 🙂
Thank you for reading.
Hello my dearest readers 😀
Last week I went overseas and hauled in DFS Changi. If you are following me on instagram (@memoiselle), you’ll know that I bought few items including this Guerlain blush duo. The picture below is taken from my instagram account.
Now onto the review of this blush.
I bought this blush at $56. I believe this is sold at $70 at department stores in Singapore. I saw few colors at the counter but I am a pink blush lover so I immediately grabbed this one.
The packaging is made of metal casing which is heavy. I love heavy packaging and this casing looks very elegant and expensive. There’s a Guerlain logo embossed at the bottom of the casing. The casing is very prone to finger prints and therefore it was really difficult for me to get a nice picture of the casing.
This blush comes with two shades of blush that can be worn separately or blended together. The top shade is a very pigmented pink with slight shimmer. The shimmer is minimal so this is very shimmer friendly to those who don’t like shimmer blush. The bottom shade is a pale matte pink. I believe this matte pink is meant to complement the very bright pink shade on the top. However I think this shade can also be used alone when I want a very natural pale looking pink on my cheek.
This blush is VERY pigmented. So I need to be careful when swiping my brush to this blush pan. The two colors were blended together as seen in the last swatch picture. I purposely swatch a heavy amount of blush (3 swipes) so that you can see the color. But in real life, 1 swipe is enough to get a pigmented look.
Sadly, the texture is not something that I would expect from a Guerlain blush. The texture is hard and not as buttery as I want it to be. There’s a slight fallouts which I dislike. Also, it’s hard to blend the color nicely.
The packaging of this blush is very pretty. The texture is somewhat disappointing; it’s not soft and doesn’t blend very well. However since I bought this at the DFS ($56) I guess this is still value for money considering I got two blush color. But if I would have to pay $70 for this, I definitely won’t. The pigmentation does not disappoint but I guess the texture quality needs to be improved.
