Estee Lauder Double Wear Make Up To Go Liquid Compact –

FullSizeRender (1)

I always get excited whenever I have a new foundation to test/try. Estee Lauder Singapore sent a piece of the new Double Wear Make Up To Go Liquid Compact to me recently and I’ve been using this lately.

The packaging successfully attracts my immediate attention. It comes in a compact foundation case, but the actual product comes in a liquid form. It comes with a button to dispense the product and also a sponge to apply the product.

I’ve tried applying this with the sponge, my finger and also buffing brush. I like the sponge that comes with the product itself, it’s able to help spreading the product evenly into my skin. But the downside of using sponge is that it takes a lot of product into the sponge and I ended up wasting the products away. With buffing brush, I also experienced the same downside to using sponge. Hence when I use this, I like to apply it with my finger and blend it. It saves a lot of products and it applies nicely on my skin too.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Make Up To Go Liquid Compact has a dewy finish and it feels hydrat. These days I like to opt for dewy make up base as my skin is dry and this base has done a pretty good job. It stays perfectly for 8 hours before it starts to fade. The coverage is medium, it’s able to cover my freckles on my cheek and slight redness on my face. In terms of coverage, this foundation is able to cover my light blemishes, but when I have a breakouts, I’ll go for other foundations with more coverage.

The packaging is a so convenient for travelling and on the go make up. With the button to dispense the product, I can choose to use my sponge or use my finger to apply. At first the packaging reminds me of BB Cushion but after wearing it for a while, I realize that the packaging is even better than BB cushion as I am given a choice to use sponge/finger to apply whereas I would need my sponge to apply BB Cushion on my face! 🙂

Givenchy Teint Couture Balm Review

I am sure that most women would wish for a flawless skin. I am glad that I was given a tube of Givenchy Teint Couture Balm to try – I found my new favorite make up base!

Givenchy Teint Couture Balm has a unique formula – water in silicone which is claimed not to leave any greasy feeling when applied onto the skin. It’s supposed to blend with the skin and leaving a very natural look and enhance natural radiance. With diamond powder encapsulated inside a polymer matrix, when Givenchy Teint Couture Balm is applied to the skin, it’s supposed to blurs away imperfection and improve complexion radiance.

The product is packaged in a simple and sleek tube. The cap has a minimalistic yet unique design in Givenchy’s signature House’s fashion collection.

When I was first introduced to this, I wonder to myself how would a product be able to blur out the complexion with a light coverage? But after trying this, I was blown away! I like how lightweight the texture of the product is. Indeed it’s able to minimizes my pores and it blurs away imperfection.

You can see from the picture above that this this Teint Couture Balm is able to provide decent coverage. By decent I mean light to medium coverage. My pores and redness is well covered, but when I have bad dark eye circles, this product alone may not be enough to cover my panda eyes. I still have to reach for my concealer to cover up my dark eye circle.

I’ve been using this for the past few weeks and here’s my verdict:

Givenchy Teint Couture balm provides a decent coverage for my day to day make up base. It’s super easy to blend with my fingers and it stays for a good long hours even when I have to work in an outdoor environment. By the end of the day, I would see a very minimal oxidation but it still look alright. It gives me a natural finish and enhancing a radiant look. What I like most about Givenchy Teint Couture Balm is that I can choose not to powder my face at all – I am able to walk out of my house without feeling greasy/sticky and yet my face would still look fine at the end of the day.

Givenchy Teint Couture Balm is now available in Givenchy counters in Singapore

Givenchy Teint Couture Balm was kindly provided to me for my consideration. My review is all based on my opinion and experiences on the product – honest and genuine.

Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow – Review

After all the hype of Guerlain Les Tendres for Spring 2015, I finally decided to write down what I think of the new Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow. To tell you frankly, the first thing that attracts me to get this product is the name.. BABY GLOW! Yes glow, the healthy glow that I really need right now. My skin has been looking quite dry and dull due to hormonal changes, so when this product is hitting Singapore shore, I ran and grab it immediately LOL!

Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow comes in a squeezable tube with pump.

Guerlain market this product not as a BB Cream or foundation but as a light revealing sheer make up. This is supposed to give you the glow that Meteorites gives but in the liquid form. It also promises to enhance the radiance of the complexion and wipe away signs of daily fatigue and stress.

Meteorites Baby Glow comes in 3 shades with 2Clair being the lightest, I picked 2 Clair and the swatch is as below. I find that shade 2 Clair is a tad too dark for me, I would love it even more if it comes in a lighter shade.

IMG_5269

After trying this out many many times, I am happy to report that Meteorites baby glow provides the glow that it promise. Although it is quite sheer and not able to cover up my redness perfectly, I love the finish and the glow Meteorites Baby Glow provides. It has a matte finish yet it gives that healthy glow that I need. This is one of the liquid base that I don’t always use setting powder on top of it. It stays for a good 6-7 hours before it oxidises. With setting powder, it lasts up to 8-9 hours with me. Meteorites Baby Glow has the Guerlain Meteorites scent – I personally have been very sensitive to smell these days and it would be nicer if the product is not too heavily scented.

Comparing Meteorites baby glow with some other Guerlain’s make up base, I would say that all these 3 products below provides a different finish and texture. In terms of coverage, Lingerie de Peau provides the best coverage and the finish is more dewy compared to the healthy glow that Baby Glow provides. Comparing to BB Hydra, Baby glow has a more pinkish tone in it and BB Hydra leans more towards yellowish tone. The texture of BB Hydra is also more watery compared to Baby Glow.

Guerlain meteorites baby glow is a permanent product, so there’s no need to hurry to get this asap. Give it a try at the counter first and see if you will like the texture. As a final thought, I would say that Meteorites Baby Glow does not disappoint me. It provides the healthy glowing skin and fades away the fatigue looking skin. Moreover the staying power of this product is very good considering the humid weather here in Singapore. The only downside of this is the heavy scented product that might be a little bit overwhelming to me. Other than that, I am happy to say that Meteorites Baby Glow is worth trying especially if you like a lightweight product over your face.

Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow is retailing at SGD 75 in Singapore

Regain Your Youth Skin with The Body Shop Drops of Youth Sleeping Mask!

IMG_4546

Hello again!!

Happy New Year 2015! I am so glad that I am able to come back and to write again. My blog has been silent for few weeks and I miss blogging so much! There are so many things going on in my life now that I didn’t even have the time to read & write blogposts for a while. I hope that I would have more time and energy now to continue writing as frequent as before. Blogging has been part of my life for the past few years, and neglecting this blog for a while has made me miss the blogging community so much. So I shall stop my rambling and start talking about The Body Shop Drops of Youth Sleeping Mask.

The product comes in a glass tube and comes with a spatula. The mask looks thick inside the jar but when you scoop it and apply it onto your skin, you can feel that the texture is not thick at all; in fact, it feels light and it transforms into gel texture. Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask is packed with ingredients extracted from Edelweiss – the flower is able to survive in dry and cold weather in the alps.

Lately I have been obsessed with mask – I went nuts trying so many types of masks. When TBS is launching their mask, I became so excited to try it. I received this product few days ago and went to try it on my face immediately. I applied my night skin care regime (toner – serum – moisturiser) and I add one more layer of TBS Sleeping Mask and went to sleep. The texture feels light upon application and what I like about it is that the scent is not strong at all. So for those of you who are sensitive to strong scent, give this one a try! The next day I can feel that my skin is restored, it feels more hydrated. I am still using this mask daily up till now and I’m looking forward to see more positive result 🙂

The Body Shop recommends a specially designed massage technique to apply this mask. Screen Shot 2015-01-07 at 5.55.59 pm

Other than the Bouncy Sleeping Mask; The Body Shop also launch an addition to its Drop of Youth Range ! Wonderblur is the last step of your beauty routine before make-up. This lightweight blur instantly smoothes skin texture, visibly reducing fine lines and pores for an all-day flawless look.

IMG_4551

Here’s the swatch of wonderblur. You can see some visible lines on the back of my hand. Then after applying wonderblur on the back of my hand, I can immediately tell the difference! The lines has been blurred and it doesn’t look as visible as before. Wonderblur is meant to be the last step of your skincare routine before you apply your make up. With wonderblur, your make up should be looking more flawless as it creates a smooth canvas for the foundation to glides in smoothly. The picture below is the swatch:

Alright then! This post wraps my first blogpost in 2015, I hope to be able to write more in the future! 🙂

Thanks for reading!

Shu Uemura Holiday 2014 Collection x Karl Lagerfeld – Shupette

Here we are coming into the last quarter of the year. I can’t believe time flies just like that and Christmas collection has started to flow in. This year, Shu Uemura launches a holiday collection together with Karl Lagerfeld with a Shupette theme. Shupette is the snow white long haired pussycat princess created for this collection.

The collection consists of many items, but in this post I’ll focus on few items as photographed below.

IMG_9965

Now let’s start with the star of the collection, Shupette has it all Lip & Eye Palette.

This palette won my eye sight for the cute shupette print at the front. It’s made of mirroring metal and it also comes with a fury white pouch. The fury white pouch makes a good compliment for this palette – it fits perfectly and matches the theme.

IMG_9967 IMG_9966

Shupette has it all Lip & Eye Palette consists of 8 eyeshadow shades and 6 lip shades.

Here are the eyeshadow shades in the palette (starting from top left)

E1: is a black

E2: this shade is described as dark grey but on my swatch below, I can see that there’s a mixture or grey and violet shade.

E3: burgundy brown with some silver shimmers

E4: described as Toffee shade –

E5: this shade is called as shupette blue – it’s a light cloudy blue with metallic sheen.

E6: described as cool grey, looks like white to me and it also has a metallic sheen finish

E7: rosy shade with metallic finish

E8: light beige champagne with metallic finish

L1:Lip bonbon magenta

L3: Lip bonbon violet

L4: Lip bonbon pale pink

L8: Lip bonbon salmon pink

L5: Lip bonbon deep red

L2:Lip bonbon baby pink

I must say that the quality of these eyeshadows varies. Some shade performs much better than the other shades. Shade E1, E2 and E3 are smoother and pigmented than other shades. Some of the other shades are just quite dry although the colors are very pretty.
