Bobbi Brown Holiday 2012 – Powder Pearl Eye Trio

Hello all, how have your weekdays been? I hope it has goes smoothly. Mine went pretty well and I am thankful that weekend is finally here again :)

I saw Bobbi Brown Holiday 2012 Collection in Changi Airport last week and Powder Pearl Eye Trio caught my attention. I remember I saw Joey posted this on her blog and it looks so beautiful. I am not sure whether this is already available in Singapore department store. I bought this at SGD 58-59.

Powder Pearl Eye Trio consist of 3 powder eyeshadow; Black Pearl is a charcoal black with gold glitter, Pink Pearl is a shimmery champagne beige, Moonlight is a shimmery taupe.

The packaging resembles Bare Minerals High Shine Eye Color. I have been thinking to get Bare Mineral High Shine Eye Color but I always ended up saying no. I think Bobbi Brown’s are very similar in terms of packaging and pigmentation. These three colors are very wearable and lasts for quite long. It lasted for 5 hours with me without smudging. The pigmentation of these eyeshadow is amazing. It’s very pigmented and the color pops very nicely.

However the fallout could be very annoying. I think the downside of all non pressed powder eyeshadow is the fallout issue. I always do my eyelook before I apply my sunscreen and powder so that I can fix the mess before I continue doing the rest of my face.

The swatches below is taken under indoor lighting without primer. I applied two layers of each color.

This is my eyelook for the day. I was wearing this to work and I am impressed to see no smudge after 5 hours. No mascara was applied as I want to keep it simple.

I hope this review is helpful :)

Are you intrigued to pick any of Bobbi Brown’s holiday collection? What do you think of this?

Thank you for reading.

I was wondering about these. The colors look gorgeous, but fallout would be a deal breaker for me.

It is a pity about the fallout. I like applying my foundation first, my eye makeup is usually the last step so if there is a fall out, it is so difficult to remove. Have you ever had the experience of sneezing after applying our mascara and realizing you have transferred mascara under your eyes. I must try applying my eye makeup first but habit are so hard to break.

Yes I’ve had that experience before and it’s so annoying to clean the mascara especially on my lower lids because it looks so messy. I think applying eye makeup firstly is a good idea to prevent any mess from fallout.

  3. The color payoff is lovely! I think packaging like this has already limited the fallout to a minimum, but since it’s loose you probably can’t avoid it altogether. The look you did is lovely!

Hi Memoiselle, I’m a big Bobbi Brown fan, so it was fun for me to see this. The outside packaging is beautiful. The fallout is a bummer, but I think the look you created is really pretty nonetheless!
