NARS Underworld Swatch and Review

Today I have NARS Underworld to be swatched and reviewed for you all. I bought this eyeshadow from Barneys when they were offering international free shipping without any minimum purchase (yay!!). I know this through instagram, Thank you Make Up Blogette for the info :) There are many NARS duo that I have been eyeing, one of them is NARS Underworld and I am glad I bought this. This eyeshadow duo looks nice on the pan but looks even nicer when it’s swatched.

NARS Underworld is a combination of greyish taupe with shimmer and dusty blue with shimmer. The color doesn’t look that appealing on the pan, but when I swatch it for the first time, I knew I had made the right choice to get this. The eyeshadow is very smooth and buttery. The pigmentation is excellent, I only swipe my finger once and you’ll see how pigmented it is in the picture below. There is a bit of fallout issues here but it’s very minimal. I am happy with this palette.

When I swatched this, it immediately reminds me of my YSL Pure Chromatics #3. Although YSL’s palette has 4 colors (2 of them are browns) the blue colors look similar. I am comparing NARS Underworld with YSL Pure Chromatics Wet n Dry #3 and Chanel Quad in Lagons (sorry for the misspelled of “Lagons” in the 2 pictures below)

As you can see, they all looks quite similar but none of them are dupes. There wasn’t any primer used. In terms of pigmentation, NARS is the winner among the three. YSL’s pigmentation is also good, however it would be better if it’s used wet (you can spray your brush with water first before dabbing into the YSL pan).

Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase of my NARS duo. I think I might want another one or two more pans (more to neutrals and brownish). Do you have any suggestion of which one to take?

Thank you for reading.

  1. I’ve been wondering about NARS eyeshadows. What’s the lasting power without primer? (I’m lazy). Oh, and I love that you have recipes on your blog.

    Thanks for visiting me!
    Chris :)

    • I always use primer whenever I’m wearing eyeshadow. But judging from the texture, I think this would be quite long lasting. i like the texture as it’s buttery smooth. Although there’s some fallouts but it’s still manageable. :) thank you for stopping by

  2. oooh pretty! For some reason, I was never really interested in this duo–but your pics changed my mind. WANT!

  3. man, i wish i joined instagram a tad bit earlier to get to know about the Barneys deal :p i love how complex the dusty blue shade is!
