I am glad that finally I am able to write a post on this stunningly elegant make up palette. At the first glance I saw this palette in ION Orchard, I knew I should get this palette but I was reluctant. This beautiful palette comes with an expensive price tag at SGD 102. I am not a huge fan of Chanel quad as they are not well pigmented, but my experience with Chanel Ombres Perlees from Spring 2011 Collection has been good. Ombres Perlees is more well pigmented as they have a creamier texture compared to other Chanel Quad. This is one of my main reason why I want this Ombres Matelassés so bad. I have been going to Chanel boutique in ION Orchard for many times and ended up didn’t buy this palette as I still have a long wish list of make up products. But after looking at the great swatches from Jolyn (here) and Jacqueline (here), I am even more convinced that i should get this.
Few days ago I decided to get this palette although it’s very pricey. When I said I am going to get this product, the SA told me that I am very lucky as this is their very last piece. Phewww I am relieved that I am still able to get it. I think the colors in this palette is very wearable. However, the colors here are in different theme with many other neutral colors such as Urban Decay Naked Palette (here). I would describe UD’s as everyday make up color while Chanel Ombres Matelassées as an elegant royale color. I don’t know why but looking at these color reminds me of how elegant could a woman be using this color.
Now let’s get to the pictures ans swatches
Although the pigmentation is much better than the usual Chanel Quad, I still have to layer 2-3 times to get a covered look. The shimmer looks great and doesn’t show any frosty finish. The Chanel SA told me that the two dark colors at the right can be used as a eyeliner. I have not tried this palette yet but surely I am going to post something if I have done so.
What do you think of this palette? Are you getting it as well?
Thank you for reading.
