Today’s post is going to be a newly released collection under Chanel Illusion d’ Ombre . In Singapore, Riviere is only released last week (or last 2 week) and only certain outlets carry this product. I am not sure whether this is a limited edition illusion d’ Ombre; but since I am a huge fan of Chanel’s cream shadows, I had no doubt of grabbing it.

I would describe Riviere as a mermaid blue. It looks greenish blue on the pot but it looks more of a light blue when it is swatched. The texture of Chanel’s cream shadow is soft and sparkly. One thing I like about this color is that it can be used for my daily make up. It is not too much to be used for daily look. However, the sparkle and shimmer of riviere is not as stunning as Chanel Mirifique or Fantasme. Another thing that I dislike from Riviere is the pigmentation. The color pigmentation is not as good as other collection of illusion d’Ombre. This color is definitely not one of my favorite from the Illusion d’ Ombre collection because of the lack of pigmentation.
As you can see in the picture above, the color looks greenish blue. This color reminds me of the nail polish color from OPI called “Mermaid’s Tears”. You can see the swatch of the color from Joey’s Space . I think OPI Mermaid’s Tears would be a great make up pair with Chanel’s Riviere.
Now, let see how it looks on my eyelids:
In the first swatch picture, I applied 2-3 thin layer of shadow. The color does not look obvious at all. Then, I put more amount of shadow on the second swatch. In the second picture, you can see the color more clearly. Although Riviere is not something that I love, I have no regret getting this pot because I don’t have many green/blue shadow in my stash.

I love Illusion D’ombres! My heart skipped a beat when I read in your post that there is a new one out. Unfortunately I don’t do icy blues well. It looks pretty on you though. Which is your fav shade? I love Emerville and Mirifique best.
I don’t really like icy blue either but there’s nothing wrong with having few :p.
My favorite is mirifique! It’s very well pigmented and very sparkly. That’s my most used illusion d Ombre

was really disappointed. now its crumbly, and cant use it as eyeliner anymore.
still i went to purchase Elboui… really great to use!

I don’t really use it as an eyeliner. I use it mostly for a simple smokey eye look.
